What christmas candle are you burning?

I have two Slatkin and Co candles going right now.

Winter and Frosted Cranberry.

The Slatkin and Co candles burn more evenly than the YC (no tunnel down the middle of the candle like YC) and the fragrance is much stronger.

Candles tunnel because they aren't lit long enough. The large one wick yankee jars need to burn for at least four hours at a time to burn evenly all the way down. If that's too much of a time commitment the illumalids help the candles burn evenly for less time. I work for yankee so I have a ton at home, but I can't burn anything in my dorm. But I do have willow breeze in my plug in.

For me, it didn't matter how long they were lit, I still had a tunnel down the middle. And the lids made absolutely no difference.

So now I buy candles that burn cleanly and evenly and I recycle an empty jar at the end.

I'm about to have a falling out with Yankee Candles. I am soooo tired of them tunneling down the center, leaving half of the $25 candle un-burnt! I get more even burning from cheap $5 Walmart candles (which smell just as good, but unfortunately there is much less variety).

I have two Balsam and Cedar Yankee Candles on my mantle. The smell great, but they are BOTH tunneling. I have a Frosted Snow on my dining room table that is burning evenly. This fall I bought two Farmers Market Yankee Candles, one tunneled, one burned evenly.

I am going back to Walmart candles once these are done. For $5 I don't mind tunneling.

Try the Bath and Body Works candles (Slatkin & Co). You'll love them. And if you burn YC a lot, you'll need to clean your walls and ceilings due to all of the soot they leave behind. Yuck.

I have my Scentsy wickless candle scent going. I am burning Christmas Cottage right now. I love it! I was once a Gold Canyon or Yankee Candle gal, but the soot got EVERYWHERE! I got so tired of it! So I switched to Scentsy after reading about it on the DIS and learning more about it from a friend. I will never go back to candles.
