Was thinking of skipping the characters on our Disney Magic Eastern cruise in 7.5wks cos DS10.5 is NOT into them at all!! However, Ive been reading that Capt Hook is there - who else? And when should we look for them? I thought it was just the main 5 and the princesses - maybe I was wrong?

Hook and Mr. Smee were onboard and on the pier at CC. The Alladin characters were around and I suspect it was Jasmine's costumine (or lack thereof) that caught the nearly 13 year old's attention! Also I seem to remember the villian from Alladin...ok, this was nearly 3 years ago too, so maybe someone more recent can advise the latest.

It may all be in your approach :0)

My 11yo DSs know better than to say they wouldn't pose with Mickey or the rest of the gang. I think they know that "Mom and Dad pay for cool Disney trips and all I have to do is smile for a few pictures".

That's what young men have to contend with when they have a "Scrapbooking Mom".

You know that may be it! My kids joke constantly about wait, mom has a photo op here. When my son started playing football it made him nervous to hear me cheering (I admit it, I'm loud and at a middle school field voices stand out) so for Christmas I received a brand new long lens! Now I could take my pics from the stands and if I'm shooting a long lens you can't yell - it blurs the pics. As he is now "more mature" at 15 (he said it) he appreciates those scrapbooks too!

So it may be the approach but I also think since they are not with the kids they have to go to school with some of the pressure to keep up that cool facade recedes!

I didn't see Jasmine on the cruise, but when I saw her at the parks, she certainly caught MY attention!!!
