Reading Dan Murphy's thread asking "Is The DIS Different"? made me think about the threads that have made me realize why the DIS is different and what I like about it.
I think the one that most recently got to me was NativeTxn's (Katholyn's) story about her mom being in a nursing home and requesting birthday cards be sent to her DM. I still get teary eyed thinking about her DM receiving all those cards from myself and other DISers.
What is your favorite "feel good" thread?:D

TC:cool:

<font color=navy>There have been so many, but the ones that stand out are the ones where fellow DISers have gone out of their way to help a person or family - Those stories are seared in my heart.

Dan Murphy's post about someone from the dis quilting Marie a patch for the Quilt for the Cure. What an awesome story and if you did not see the pic of the patch you sure missed out. This one really stands out in my mind.

In my short time here on the boards, I have been amazed by the outpour of support everyone gives each other. Sending prayers, cards, and flowers is really something special.
Overall, there is a really good group of people here.

When tkyes came on the CB about 2 years ago, asking if there were any sort of Make a Wish equivilant for adults, as she had a dear friend who was dying, and wanted to bring her 3 children to WDW.

Well, I appointed myself a helper with the project, made myself some amazing friendships, and was amazed and wonderfully surprised at the complete and utter kindness of strangers.

It was very carthartic to me for a number of reasons as well.

There has been some pretty cool stuff since then, but nothing will touch my heart quite like Stephanie, her parents, and her children.

When Pat Elliott frantically asked for prayers for his wife and unborn daughter.

Actually, after only just reading the title of the thread I was going to say "anything posted by Dan Murphy!" Especially his music/picture posts from the parks and resorts. And he did a sweet Mother's Day one this year! I actually find myself searching out his name! And if someone is looking for something he almost always has an answer!! Thanks Dan!.......P

It wasn't a feel-good thread, but the threads about BeverlyLynn's passing really touched my heart. She was most definitely a woman who was loved and cherished by many. I wish I'd known her.

Sylvia/NicksMom

It's been almost 3 years since she died - I still think that I will find a post or an email from her.:(

She was my first internet friend - I was wary and scared of "opening" up on the net - I wish that I had known her for more than one and half years before she died.:(

Everytime Dan posts the "Rainbow Bridge" I start to cry. It moves me so much, and I just know it's an enormous comfort to the person who lost their beloved pet.

little Nate Page
mostly from the cruise boards
thanks Andy & DIAD

I would have to say the deaths of Sylvia (Nicks Mom), Robin, and Beverly Lynn touched my heart the most. It truly made me realize how much this community and its members mean to me.

Froggy's story is amazing, D! What courage he has, and somehow he has managed to keep his sense of humor.

I would have to add another vote for the threads about Nate Page (his life and his passing), and the threads about Beverly Lynn's passing. I still can't believe that she is gone.

Any thread about Sylvia really gets me.

Ray's story about the pictures he takes at Christmas has always been special, he'll always be Santa Claus to me. I want to share a personal inspiration with my Inspiration buddies!!!

I didn't know Sylvia as well but losing Robin & Beverly Lynn has been hard. Robin's been gone almost a year :( My heart aches when I think of Caitlyn & Aryn. There are :) thoughts & memories too, if things work out I'll get to see Caitlyn in a couple of days and that will be a very :( :) moment.

I have two...when Dan Murphy posts the Rainbow Bridge for a hurting pet lover.

And Delswife trip report when her oldest son left early to go back and serve his country - all the kids saying goodbye to him at the MK! It ripped my heart right out!

This was the one for me...we helped out and were glad we did....
