We were in a cat. 9 and were blessed by an upgrade to cat. 5

Upgraded from an 11 to a 5! Wow! Maybe we'll have the same luck in February - except my sister promises not to get stuck in the hospital in Nassau for two weeks...LOL

We were bumped up from an 11 to a 9 on a November cruise.

We started in a cat 12 and upgraded to a cat 7. DCL blessed us with another upgrade to cat 4.

I didn't vote. All indications are that upgrades on DCL are few and far between. DCL provides upgrades in order to be able to oversell some categories. So some people wind up with upgrades.

Nobody should expect an upgrade and be disappointed when they get the specific stateroom or guaranteed category for which they paid.

We were upgraded to a five from a nine. It was grand.....September tends to be an easier time than around the holidays. We are sailing again in a week and half in a cat. 9. It's a pretty full ship, but pixie dust is always in the air sailing on the Magic.

I don't even think I would WANT to be upgraded! We picked our stateroom based on where we wanted to be on the ship, and I would be sad if it changed.... (except to the Roy/Walt suites of course!!)

We went from a twelve to a one.. yup they just liked us so much we were given the Walt Suite
(just joking... no upgrades on any of our cruises... it really is not as common as one would think/hope)

I think it's great that there are instances when people do get unexpectedly upgraded....what a fun treat! We have two connected cat 8 rooms on our upcoming trip, and I think they are in the perfect location. We're forward, in a small, quiet hallway, with staterooms above and below, on deck 7. I'm pretty pleased. Unless the upgrade comes with Antonio Banderas as our room steward, I hope we're not one of the "chosen" who gets moved. I like our location, and like the connecting rooms.
