What Can't I Use My Credit Card For?

Just trying to decide how much cash we need to take with us. I know that we can't use a credit card to pay for our town car. Any others? Parasailing, carriage ride, illuminations cruise?

Any Disney owned-and-operated attraction, restaurant, and service except vendor food carts can be put on a credit card, or for that matter your room charge. (Lets you carry just the room key.) Non Disney-owned places - e.g., Swan and Dolphin and some of the Downtown Disney restaurants - don't take the room charge, but will take your credit card.

The vendor and pin carts don't take Visa. Found out the hard way when I went to MK by myself in October while DH was in a conference with NO cash. Luckily I had my VISA so I could charge some lunch at a counter service restaurant, but I really wanted those sugar glazed almonds.

Thanks for the help. I thought everything could be on a credit/debit, but I wanted to make sure.

The pin cart outside of Epcot did take our room key (card) in December. Seems like if they could take that, that they would take a credit card. How strange.

I am a bit confused... since when have you not been able to use a credit card with the towncar/limo companies? I know that you can't give your card to the driver but I have always called in advance and given my card # to the company for our limo. Has something changed?

kbkids-I think she meant some of the pin carts-not the one at Epcot, which is more like a stationary store. the smaller carts that can move (like ice cream, soda, and almond stands) as well as the people at say, Fantasmic walking around with sodas don't take cards. Anything that takes a card takes all cards. Overall though most things take cards. I only carry cash now for sodas and ice cream.
