What can you tell me about Vero Beach?

We will be heading to Vero Beach for the first time for a few days after our trip to WDW this summer. We will be there August 2 - 6.
I would love to hear all about this wonderful resort and what there is to do, what the costs are, etc.

The kids are 12 and 5 and are really looking forward to the trip. They actually think we are just going to Vero, the WDW part is a surprise.

We've been to Vero three times and love it. Of course there is the beach and pool, a croquet lawn, bikes et. The pool has a dj on Sat I think with games, music etc. There's a campfire and activities to sign up for at the resort. My boys took a sailboat out with a guide and had a great time. There's an AMC 24 screen movice theater in Vero, a mall and lots of restaurants. We went one time in mid- August and overnight there appeared land crabs all over the highways etc. It was the craziest thing we have every seen. I think it happens every year. I'm not kidding they were on the street outside of the resort, walking down sidewalks, getting run over by cars. Its some kind of phenomen. Anyway, Vero is one of our favorite relaxing places to be but we have never been bored. The resort is beautiful and just enough Disney to be magical.

Very nice resort, very friendly CMs. In addition to the above there is miniature golf. I believe you can pay a flat fee for your stay or by the game. There is an exercise room that my girls used quite a bit.

Vero is awesome. WE LOVE IT!

The CM's make you feel like family, the restaurants have great food, there are many activities throughout the day for children and teens. Don't forget to try the campfire to make some s'mores.

Our kids love the pool, the slide and the pirate ship play area.

On our last trip, we witnessed a sea turtle rescue and we saw a huge pod of dolphin jumping in the water.
