What Can We Use Disney Dollars For?

I been giving my kids Disney Dollars as a incentive for doing chores and just being good in school and they are stacking up a pretty nice bundle all 3 of them. But a co-worker said I am wasting my time cause I can't really use them to many places. So now I am wondering what can I actually buy with Disney Dollars? Snacks, food, souvenirs?

Your co-worker is DEAD WRONG!! You can use Disney Dollars JUST LIKE CASH anywhere in Walt Disney World, Disneyland or Disney stores. In fact, we needed some cash and traded our $$ directly for cash without any purchase at all.

To name just a few places you can spend Disney $$, ANY restaurant or Snack/beverage center anywhere in WDW and in almost all Downtown Disney locations as well (even the Lego store accepts Disney $$). You can use them to pay for your room reservation or any activities in WDW.

Basically, you can use them almost anywhere in WDW or Disneyland. Do not worry about not being able to use them, you can use them anywhere and they will disappear quickly no matter how many you manage to bring :lmao:

My kids also work for Disney Dollars. For Christmas and for chores, they are well over $150 each and we still have 3 months to go.

Yes, they can be used anywhere in Disney.

My DS8 has 3 loose teeth right now....guess what the Tooth Fairy is bringing him....yep, Disney Dollars for our May trip!!

You can use them everywhere for anything on property. I too use them for incentives, rewards B-Days etc...

Have a great trip.

Thank you for making that clear to me. I was a little worried at first. :scared: But I thought he has to be wrong, so many ppl talk about using them. We are going in May as well so I am going to keep using them as an incentive and next time I plan a trip to Disney I will start using them earlier. Thanks for the advice. :cutie:

:thumbsup2 we saved enough disney dollars to buy our park hoppers and all our meals, so far !!!! :worship:  :woohoo: :woohoo: :cool2:

We used our Disney Dollars to pay for parking :goodvibes You can use them at all the Disney parks. Also, good for valle parking.

Unfortunatly we are unable to get our hands on Disney Dollars in England - so my DD(aged 10) works every Sunday at the Horse Riding School, i give her £5 approx $7.50 (i know slave labour!!), we then change it into dollars and as soon as we get to WDW she changes her dollars into disney dollars!!!....Then she spends it all :rotfl2:

I cant get then here in Canada so when I get to disney where can I go and buy some from to surprise my kids each morning with some ?

Any guest services location carries them. You can find guest services at the theme parks and at DTD.

Can you get them at the hotel front desk or only at the parks and DTD

Can you use Disney Dollars to purhase meals at the parks as well as at a Disney Resort? When we went last year we had free dining and I would like to pre-pay for as much of the upcoming trip as possible.

Question, I understand buying them and using them as an incentive for your kids but what is the point for adults? Someone said they had saved enough to pay for their tickets and hotel... why is that a big deal? It's still your money, you paid dollar for dollar the value of the disney dollars with US dollars.

I won some Disney Dollars in a radio contest so I will be using them but I don't see the point in the future to buy them as an adult. Am I missing something?

Hi - I agree that there is no purpose (other than fun!) for adults purchasing/saving the Disney Dollars...........the kids LOVE it b/c they get their own special "cash" to use. But I don't think that you "get" anything special as adults in using them other than the "fun" factor. Let me know if I'm wrong! Thanks!

You sure can. I have used DD$ as my food budget on several trips and paid for all of my Disney meals in the parks and resorts with them.

This is a trick used by those of us with low self-control. I buy DD$ on a regular basis and put them aside - but you can only spend DD$ in Disney stores, parks, and resorts, so I can't "dip into" my vacation savings. I've been caleld "stupid" to put the money aside as DD$ instead of putting it into a bank account that draws interest, but at $10 a week, over 8 or 10 months that I save for a trip, I'm really only losing a few bucs in interest, while I'm protecting my savings from impulse purchases.

If you need cash at the park........you can use your credit card to buy Disney Dollars it will show up as a purchase. NO CC fee, and no Cash Advance Charge either. Good Deal?

Thanks for your responses :wave2:

I have another question... I decided to look on eBay to see if anyone sold their Disney dollars and found that it appears to be a big collectible. I saw that the 1998 D series $10 Disney dollars sell for a lot (sometimes) and people seem to like consecutive serial numbers a lot, do any of you collect? Would it be worth my time to list the 10 1998 $10 Disney dollars I have that are still shrinkwrappped and consecutive serial numbers? :confused3
