Our family is taking an expected trip to WDW 8/27-9/4! Could you tell us what to expect as far as weather and crowds. We went in mid Nov. 2004 and loved the weather and crowd levels, how does it compare?
Thanks

well, i can tell you this much~it will be hot :sunny: and humid. as far as the crowds, it has been years since we visited in late august; therefore, i will not venture to say about how it is now. have a great trip! :earboy2:

Crowds should be ok, until you get closer to the Labor Day weekend. Schools in Fl start early in August, so you won't have to worry about too many local families during the week. Weather could be trickey. It will be very hot and humid. This is during peak hurricane season. We had planned to go during Labor Day weekend last year, but ended up leaving the state because of Francis. We are booked for Labor Day weekend.

Hot and humid with a daily chance of hurricanes..... :rolleyes1

The only times my family has been to WDW was late Oct./early Nov. and late August. IMHO, the weather was better in the late Oct./early Nov. but as for crowds, there are starting to be more crowds that time of year.

We found last time we were there in late Aug. the crowds were very light and I personally didn't think it was unbearably hot & humid. There are so many great ways to cool off at WDW (water parks, a/c restaurants, etc.).

We'll be there again this year the week before Labor Day. Let's just keep our fingers crossed for no hurricanes :teeth:

Did you get the free dining for your trip? To us, that was just icing on the cake! :flower:

ENJOY!

Yes, we are taking advantage of free dining! We had planned to go spring or fall '06 but when the free dining came out if was an offer we couldn't refuse. I'm just a little concerned about the weather what happens if there is a hurricane does Disney offer any type of refund or credit for future travel? We went last Nov. and loved it the weather was wonderful as were the crowds. The water rides made us a little colder than we like so we didn't ride those as much as the kids would like so maybe that will work this time. I will also be 7 and a half months pregnant so I was wondering about crowds and heat. We will be checking in on Aug. 27th and out on Sept. 4th, so it sounds like we will be there the same time you are where are you staying?

We'll be staying at WL on the exact same dates that you're going :flower:

Where will you be staying?

I don't know what Disney does about hurricanes. I have heard from those on this board though that they were wonderful last year during the hurricanes. Had the characters come to the resorts, gave free meals, etc. I'm sure they would handle it very well.

I don't envy you being 7 and a half months pregnant in Aug. but as I said and you probably know, there are so many great ways to cool off in Aug. Just spend lots of time in the air conditioned restaurants eating for free :goodvibes

We are staying at POR. Dh, DD12,DD10,DS8 and I. We stayed at POR in Nov. and loved it! We are doing Chef Mickey's the first Sat. but that's the only PS we've made so far. We are hoping to do O'hana and several others but are waiting on EMH to decide on days and times.
