Our dryer finally took a dive and we replaced it and I have no idea what to do with the old one.. Any help?

You could do several things with it!

1. Turn it into an aquarium.
2. Cover it with a tablecloth and eat off of it.
3. Use it as a big (but heavy) stepladder.
4. Call your garbage company and ask them to pick it up. :teeth:

We usually do number 4! But we don't have to call...it just goes out to the curb on garbage day and POOF it disappears.

It depends on where you live. In some places I've seen them used for Lawn or porch art.

Now if it had been the washer, I would have said to fill it with dirt and make a planter out of it.

Seriously, I would call garbage pick up and ask them to get it. Where we live, we have to pay extra to have things like that picked up.

Thanks... I don't believe our garbage company picks them up if we just set it out on the curb, though they did pick up an entertainment set a few weeks ago..

Old dryers make lovely pots for flowers. :thumbsup2

Sometimes they will pick them up, but charge you a little extra... I'd give them a call and see if you need to arrange a special pick-up. Also, occasionally appliance repair shops will pick them up at no charge. I think they fix them and resell them.

Too bad you couldn't leave it by the curb. The Junk Brothers could come along and turn it into a barbecue or something!! :lmao:

(Junk Brothers is a show on HGTV. Two real life brothers scour neighborhoods in the cover of night, picking through people's garbage and taking household items that folks don't want and then turnin them into something else. )

Our local trash company will not pick up any appliances, we have to hall them to the landfill or take them to a salvage yard. Now I only deal with appliance dealers that will take the old appliance when they deliver the new one, unfortunately, they are few and far between in our local area.

Take out the drum thing inside and make a fire pit :thumbsup2

We put ours out by the curb...wrote free on it....it was gone in less than a day

Thats a good idea. I'm surprised when they delivered the new one, they didn't take the old one.

Find out where your local dump is and take it there. Call your local city or village hall and see what can be done. I'm sure they've gotten this question before.

The town I lived in had 2 days a year when they would pick up appliances left by the curb.. Perhaps you could call your town and see if they have the same thing..

You could try listing it on your city's Freecycle page. I've gotten rid of a lot of big stuff that I didn't need and couldn't haul off through Freecycle. Craigslist might be a good place to try, too.
