What can I expect mid-May for crowds and park hours?

We successfully toured the 'World' over July 4th. We wanted to go back Memorial Day week. However, the Dolphin won't give me a government rate on our suite after May 21st. We have to bump the trip back a week.

Are the hours minimal - 9a-6p or are there some later evenings? I assume the parades and fireworks are not every night?

How is EE at this time? Do the parks get super crowded on EE days like they do in the summer? The only day that we hit a crowded park was the one day we went to AK on EE. We don't wish to encounter that again.

Is Eride crowded? We didn't enjoy our eride night. The lines were 15-20 minutes at 1 a.m. Not what we were expecting. Is it less crowded in May?

Thanks for any help!

I think that everyone should just stay out of the parks in May ;)

Just kidding--we are going the second week of May. Two years ago the crowds were manageable most of the time. MK did close at 6:00 during the week (except Monday), though.

I was there May 7th thru the 19th this year. It was wonderful!!

Crowds were non-exsistent at EPCOT, minimal at MGM and the AK and manageable at the MK as long as you got there at the right times (early a.m.)

I also had the pleasure of doing two E-Ticket nights and let me tell you, there was nobody home! :teeth: No waits. You could walk around the MK for 10 minutes and never see another soul.

RoE is every night as was Fantasmic. The FitS fireworks were held on both Saturday and Wednesday as was Spectromagic. I had zero complaints about the amount of activities that were going on while I was there.

I only did one EE and that was the same as you, AK. The park was mobbed. After that, I purposely avoided the EE park and went else where. Never had another problem with crowds.

Don't forget, the wonderful Flower and Garden show is going on at that time. Don't miss it. I'm already planning to go back the same time next year.

Wow! Well that is definitely very encouraging. Roberta, your pictures are gorgeous!

If they have Star Wars weekends next year, I can send hubby with the boys to MGM and I'll spend the day wandering thru Epcot gazing at all the flowers. Now I am very excited!
