This has happened a few times lately.
When I need to get up at night to use the bathroom I get up just fine but when I go to lay back down it seems the room starts spinning. It only lasts a few seconds but then I can’t get back to sleep. I do have a lot on my mind lately which makes my mind spin which I’m sure doesn’t help
Any ideas what could be causing the spinning.
It doesn’t happen a lot.

Do you see a chiropractor? Maybe your neck is out of place and lying down pushes it worse at times. An atlas adjustment got rid of some vertigo that had bothered me for a few months (admittedly that is specialized chiropractic and can be hard to find). I’d try even a general chiropractor before going to an MD personally. If it doesn’t work fairly quickly or the chiro said everything looks good, I’d go to an MD.

Vertigo? There is a type associated with lying down. I forget the name. Vertigo is often due to an inner ear issue, but there can be other causes.
