I posted on the budget board..but thought I may get a quicker response here.

I have a friend leaving for Disney and he was wondering what restaurants and stores he can charge to his room. I am not a big spender and always take travelers checks, so I was unsure of the answer to give he. So what can he charge to his room?

Is your friend staying on-site? If he is, most of the restaurants and stores will let you charge to your room.

Some food carts are exceptions.

Purchases at any of the park and resort restaurants, including counter service, can be charged to your room. Also purchases from any of the shops and most of the kiosks can be charged.

Only the very portable food carts (like the popcorn stands) aren't set up for charging.

Unless it is the Swan or the Dolphin.

Oh, yeah- only the Disney owned resorts are set up for charging to your room. The Swan and Dolphin are onsite but not Disney owned, so they're not tied into Disney's systems.
