I finally convinced DH that we need a new camara for our trip. :Pinkbounc
We have what I think is the basic digital camara from KODAK, and it works fine, it's just that I'm not completely satisfied with how long I have to wait to take the next picture - and this just ruins every spur-of-the-moment photo opportunity and definitely what I don't want on our vacation.
So, we'll be buying a new one, but with a spending limit of maybe $200 .
Anyone has any recommendations about one that doesn't have this problem and will fit in my budget?

TIA!

I don't know. Maybe you can post this on the Photography Board. Lots of information over there! Have fun!

Thank you...I didn 't really know there was a photo message board... :confused3

With so much info on the trip planning forums, I haven't looked around anything else....

I bought a used minolta dimage x off ebay for about 70 bucks. I love it as I can put it in my jean pocket with no problem, fast start up and fast recovery. The weak point is indoor picts are not the best but outdoors is great. they have a dimage line x20 x31 and a new one a buddy of mine has that is a 5.0 and its really nice. they all have 3x optical zoom and that is important to have optical vs digital zoom. Thats all i know The newer ones use AA batteries u can buy anywhere.

The Minolta Dimage line is great for fast power up, and rapid fire picture taking. You can probably get one of the older models for a decent price. Check Ebay, but be sure to look at peoples ratings before buying from them.
