What building to request at SSR?

Hi folks -

Our home resort is OKW, and we have stayed at a few other properties, but are staying at SSR for the first time this August. I know it's very spread out - can anyone tell me which building(s) to request to be near the main pool? Or a building you would recommend for any other reason?

The Springs is closest to the Main pool, Grandstand and Congress Park have really nice pools and would be next closest to the main areas.

We have stayed in each area of SSR and like each for different reasons.

Thanks! Another question - how long is the walk along the footpath to Downtown Disney?

SPRINGS... It is the best location. Very close to a bus stop, the main pool and the Artist Pallet. As for the walk it would be about 10-12 minutes from the Springs.

Last time I stayed there I was in Congress Park in the building farthest from the pool (rooms 1101-1436). It was about an 8-10 minute walk to the pool and Artist Point store, and about the same to the Downtown Disney Marketplace.

We stayed at the Springs and loved the location with 1 exception ... it is the last bus stop and so there were times that the bus was full by the time they got to us. I know that many people have complained about this since our stay and so I'm hoping they've fixed the problem.

Other than that, I have nothing bad to say about SSR. Also, from the Springs, we found it about a 15 - 20 minute walk to DD, but we liked the boat ride with the kids.

We prefer Congress Park, specifically building # 16 with a DTD view. Short walk to DTD, maybe 10 minutes at a slow pace.

We stayed at the Springs in December and loved the location. We were close to the bus stop, artists point and the main pool. We only got to swim once due to the COLD snap that came through last Christmas, but we had a great time. We have requested the Springs again for our trip in August. Just so you are aware you can request a location, but they do not guarantee it.
