What breakfast foods would you bring to hotel?

We will be on the basic dining plan (first time for free) :thumbsup2

The last couple times we were on the DDP, we basically used our CS credits towards a breakfast in our hotel (usually had a breakfast platter of eggs, potatoes, bacon, toast with a juice)

This time we'd like to use them a bit differently. We'd like to have some quick breakfast items in our room (Wilderness Lodge) to eat before heading out to the parks (except for one CS breakfast at our hotel *Roaring Forks* and one TS breakfast at Crystal Palace) so that will leave us with 3 days that we would eat quick foods that we bring with us. We are not going to have a car, so heading out to a grocery store is not feasible. So the foods that we will have will have to be brought with us. Unless, there is a place that does some kind of delivery (my friend is also interested in this) Does someone have a number or name of the place that does delivery of food items? Is it a regular grocery store or a specialty place?

I'm pretty sure we'll have a small fridge in our room. We'd like to have some milk and maybe juice. What else should we bring for food though?

WeGoShop is the delivery service we use, and they're just a delivery service. They shop a regular grocery store and get the items from your shopping list, then deliver them for a reasonable fee.

When we did what you're planning on our first dining plan trip, we just ordered a small box of cereal, a half gallon of milk, a half gallon of juice, and a bunch of bananas to cover breakfasts. And really, that was overkill. We could have done with just the bananas, milk, and a box of Nutrigrain bars, but we're not big breakfast people so really it was just the kids eating in the mornings.

Also, take a look at the snack sticky on the dining plan board. You might want to think about using snack credits for a breakfast here or there because there are some really yummy options available. One thing we like to do is hit Main Street Bakery at the end of a day at the Magic Kingdom (or before leaving to rest, if you take breaks) and use snack credits for pastries to have for breakfast the next morning.

I usually pack granola, goldfish crackers, nuts, raisins, individual serving bags of chips & Smartfood Popcorn, fruit roll ups, and a few of those individual cereal bowls. (you know the ones - just add milk - they are about 1.25 at Target, they are bigger than the ones in the food courts).

I make a little place for them in the suitcase and that space is used for souvenirs on the trip back. It's nice to have breakfast/snack already in the room and not have to worry about it once you arrive. Even if you are on the Dining plan - you won't be standing near a vendor everytime your kids get hungry! For breakfast it is so nice to be able to go straight to the park and not have to stop to eat.

We bought a box of entenmann's donuts when you could do that with a snack credit and I think we had some boxes of raisins. We really didn't need extra food on the DP, we had plenty. You may even find you bring your CS or TS dessert choice back to the room for dessert. We did this with carrot cake twice and yogurt and fresh fruit another time.

We have a car, so we are probably going to bring more choices...but we usually eat bars for breakfast...we go for ones with more vitamins and protein than standard cereal/granola...even if not on a diet...slim-fast bars are pretty good...I like Luna bars as well...DH likes Cliff bars...these would be really easy to pack and they are "meal replacement" so you don't need to have the milk...

Another thing we might do is instant packets of oatmeal

By taking ideas from you guys and my own, this is what I came up with so far.

Granted, I won't be taking ALL of these things....they are just ideas.

Those individual packs of oatmeal (mainly for me and DH) ***how would we get hot water for these*** coffee pot?

Those individual bowls of cereal (good idea for the boys)

Granola bars, pop tarts, fruit, milk, juice

I was going to suggest this too. You can run regular water through the coffee maker for hot water. We have done this with oatmeal, grits, & tea.

Last June, we packed bagels & a toaster for our stay at AKL (b/c the food court was so far away from most of the rooms). Then, we got cream cheese, jelly, peanut butter, and honey from their CS.

We just throw in a box or two of Atkins bars. DD11 wakes up starving, so she can eat right away. No one's hungry when we head to the parks. Easy to pack, easy to eat.

We often use a couple of snack credits for a quick breakfast. One of our favorite spots in Main St Bakery @ MK (cinnamon rolls as big as your head:lovestruc or French Toast Loaf). We get a couple of things and share them. We also love to get some fresh fruit at the little stand outside the Safari @ AK for a quick breakfast.

We packed a lot of what was listed above (pop tarts, granola bars ect...) but we found that we preferred to just use some snack credits to pickup a yummy treat from Main St. or Epcot...bring that back and grab a bowl or 2 of fruit from the food court. Put it in the fridge and we had breakfast ready to go in the morning. We ended up shipping a lot of the stuff we had shipped down BACK home at the end. We had also used gardengrocer.com to order some things ahead of time (case of bottled water, diapers, bread ect....) The stuff that we did not use (not opened) and did not make sense to ship home we just left in the room for mousekeeping with a note attatched. On the QSDP we had MORE than enough snack credits to do this...we STILL had a ton left near the end that we had to burn through :)

We brought a couple of boxes of mini-muffins and some of the cereal bowls already mentioned. We had juice boxes, also, so that was breakfast. We usually just ate in the car (we drove) over to the parks.
