What books did you read at school?

I just looked the books up-i'm guessing most people read the revised versions but it looks like the ones I read were the originals that were published as early as 1904 I remember reading them in the '60's and '70's and knowing they were horribly outdated (and racist) but I had no idea how old they were (no wonder the covers were all falling off them and the binding was barely holding them together).

I had to go look at mine and try and find the publishing date. Well, it has no publishing date on it, but was published in Ravine, Wisconsin. The covers are not falling off yet, but close and the binding is starting to fail. You have to handle with care. I wonder how old it really is? I guess I could write the publisher.

"alot of Shakespeare", lol. Our 9th grade teacher loved Shakespeare and we spent the whole year on everything Shakespeare. The result is: I hate anything to do with Shakespeare, lol.
You are lucky to read such classics. I can't even recall what we read, which says alot I guess

Shakespeare can be amazing, but I've always felt that it should be watched rather than read. Unfortunately, most students don't have access to productions of Shakespeare's plays, but it would be great if they did.

Also, you have to have an interested teacher. Ours was quiet and read in a quiet voice and explained in a monotone quiet voice. He never got excited or explained things. No wonder I hated it.
