I hated "Snowbound", "Bridge to Tarabritha" and "A Seperte Peace". I am sorry, it was a seperate torture to read "A Seperate Peace", it was long, drawn out and boring. Phinny needed to die in the frist fall, to save my sanity, but he didn't. And don't start me on the movie...

Old Yeller and Animal Farm (we read Animal Farm in the 9th grade I think, and then I read it again for John when he was in the 12th:rolleyes: )

The one that had Algebra in it. :p

Billy Bud in the 10th grade. Then we had a mock trial, where I had to defend Bud. It was an awful, horrible experience...

BRAD!!! You HATED A Separate Peace???

It's one of my favorites! I have read it time and again. But I have never seen the movie.

It's been so long since I was in HS, that I don't RECALL what books that I might have hated reading. :(

1984 What an awful depressing book!

"The Red Badge of Courage" -- YUCK!!!

Homer's "The Odyssey" and "Silas Mariner" I thought they were so boring. And I did not enjoy having to read "The Hobbit"

I personally really disliked Dracula
I also disliked Canterbury Tales...

Loved Huck Finn and liked To Kill a Mockingbird pretty good

The only one that comes to mind just now is A Farewell to Arms.

We had to read The Canterbury Tales when I was a senior and I absolutely hated it. Didn't understand half of it either. :(

I LOVE to read! I will read just about anything.

I had to read and write a book report in the 6th grade. I almost flunked because it was the worst thing I have ever read. It was just awful. Call of the Wild by Jack London

Lord of the Flies was so dull that I slept through it(ok it was also allergy season and it was a great excuse)

I don't really recall a "required reading list" in high school. We had a very forward thinking English department that allowed us to choose quarterly from a variety of English/Literature topics to study. I chose Elizabethan poetry for one of my segments--I hated Beowulf! I struggled for what seemed an eternity that 9 weeks trying to decipher it. If only we had the internet then so I could have had a little help analyzing that monstrosity! ;)

On the bright side, I loved all of the Shakespeare works and thoroughly enjoyed the mythology quarter, too.
