nothing right now.
but i just finished reading The Yarn Shop On Blossom Street.
It's about... well. I'm still trying to figure out if it's DIS appropriate, so if you really wanna know, google it.

i'm going to the bookstore tonight to get some books for school.

I just finished "The Grapes of Wrath" by John Steinbeck. I don't believe pages mean a thing in the world, but because you requested we tell you, it is 619. The book was very good; excellent writing style. It takes place during the Great Depression and Steinbeck really shows what Americans went through. Amazing book, really. A lot of people complain the book is uninteresting. That's their opinion. Before I read the book, I heard so many degrading comments about it. I didn't care to read it much but I'm very glad I did. I couldn't do it justice by trying to make a summary of it now.

I recommend this book to anyone over the age of 16 lol. The book is filled with curse words (which are very appropriate for the time and setting of the story) and there are some very "disturbing" events that some people may not like very much. If you can take "dry" death and inhumanity, I do think you should read it. :thumbsup2

The Life of PI
Amazon says:
Yann Martel's imaginative and unforgettable Life of Pi is a magical reading experience, an endless blue expanse of storytelling about adventure, survival, and ultimately, faith. The precocious son of a zookeeper, 16-year-old Pi Patel is raised in Pondicherry, India, where he tries on various faiths for size, attracting "religions the way a dog attracts fleas." Planning a move to Canada, his father packs up the family and their menagerie and they hitch a ride on an enormous freighter. After a harrowing shipwreck, Pi finds himself adrift in the Pacific Ocean, trapped on a 26-foot lifeboat with a wounded zebra, a spotted hyena, a seasick orangutan, and a 450-pound Bengal tiger named Richard Parker ("His head was the size and color of the lifebuoy, with teeth"). After much gore and infighting, Pi and Richard Parker remain the boat's sole passengers, drifting for 227 days through shark-infested waters while fighting hunger, the elements, and an overactive imagination. In rich, hallucinatory passages, Pi recounts the harrowing journey as the days blur together, elegantly cataloging the endless passage of time and his struggles to survive: "It is pointless to say that this or that night was the worst of my life. I have so many bad nights to choose from that I've made none the champion."

There are 319 pages and I am on page 156. I would recomend this book to people who have knowelge of religons ( Hinduism, Chritianity, and Islam). I am enjoying it.

Catcher In The Rye by JD Salinger. 277 pages, and I'm on page 168. I absolutly love this book.

The Great Gatsby...and I'm not really into it.

THE BEST book I've EVER read in my life. I read it three times and I plan to read it again. It is not only the one book I can read over and over again and still be fully engrossed in, but it also means so much and the symbolism is extensive in the story. When I read that ending, I nearly cried, heh. God I LOVE the ending...I LOVE the entire book lol. J.D Salinger is an EXCELLENT author and I give him kudos for not allowing it to become a movie. The thing with this book is that it makes you imagine the way people look and the way things look and are. If a movie had come of it, it would ruin my vision of the story. The same follows true with other books. I'm just glad that no matter what, The Catcher in the Rye will NEVER be a movie. Very awesome.

Heh, sorry, it's just that you mentioned my favorite book of all time and I'm a huge reader lol. I suppose I got a bit too excited, huh? lol.

Its an amazing book. I'll finish it either today or tomorrow. But my favorite book is To Kill A Mockingbird. I've read it at least ten times.

I read that book once. It is also on my list of favorites. The second part of the book was the better half, in my opinion. Harper Lee is another great and classic author. What I find interesting about To Kill A Mockingbird is how the title connects to the story. I found it interesting how she uses those terms, that phrase, to describe the theme and the main points. Another excellent story with meaning and symbolism. However, I can't yield to The Catcher in the Rye for this one. lol. Both great, but I think Salinger's novel (his only one btw) is greater. lol.

I think by the time I finish this one, it may be my favorite. TKAMB is great, but this is just amazing.

The ending will get you. No matter what your favorite book was before, after reading the ending of The Catcher in the Rye, it WILL become your favorite lol. That is, if you like it now. This novel is a love or hate kind of book. There isn't really any in betweens. You either love it or you hate it and if you already like it, I think it's safe to assume you'll love it after reading the ending. Of course, the ending is only as powerful as it is you understanding it. The ending could mean absolutely nothing if you don't understand.

I don't want to be building you up, though, and then you go and read the end and be disappointed. You know the pace of the book. Expect what the book has given you.

I'm in the process of reading Killing Yourself To Live anddd An Unquiet Mind.

Oh my gosh TKAM makes me want to kill myself! No offense to you or anything but it just drug on and on in my opinion. I understood the symbolism and themes, etc. to the fullest but I still really didn't like it. My favorite book of all time is Of Mice And Men by John Steinbeck. I'm currently reading She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb which I also really love. I'm on page 406 out of 460ish.

ok...girls...here is the greatest book you will ever read. it's called:

I actually have yet to read Of Mice and Men, but I'm such a fan of John Steinbeck so I am wanting to read it. I have only heard great things about this book. The only book I've read by Steinbeck that I found kind of "slow-moving" is Travels With Charlie. I didn't finish it before I put it down, but I really want to give it a full chance so I plan to read it again...err, just read it lol. The Grapes of Wrath is an excellent book, I just finished that one.

I'm currently reading Black Elk Speaks. I'm reading it for school...it's interesting...but it's not my kind of book. :confused3

I'm also reading The Once and Future King. I love that book. The beginning was a tad slow....but once it started to pick up...it's awesome so far.

But I hate reading 2 books at the same time. It's just that I have to because 1)I procrastinated and 2) I won't finish it in time.

But after those I'm going to read New Moon by Stephenie Meyer.
