What book are you currently reading?

Just finished "Odd Thomas" by Dean Koontz (new) & "Lily White" by Susan Isaacs (old). Yes, I tend to read two books at a time, I'm weird.

Have Dan Brown's "Deception Point" waiting in the wings. (Loved Da Vinci Code & will work my way through his previous novels).

Actually it's "The Lovely Bones" by Alice Seibold. Sounds like something my 11 year old would love. She's a little sponge when it comes to reading. I'm trying to interest her in "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn." I think she'll love it. Classic literature.

I am reading "The Red Tent" by Anita Diamant. Just read "Up country" by Nelson DeMille.

I LOVE "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. I read it in 7th grade. I have always been a book nerd especially when it comes to the classics and history books. I am always reading something that isn't for school. I love to read. I could really do it all day if i have the right book.

I got so hooked on Harry Potter that I read the first 4 books in 7 days. Then read the fifth one in a weekend...it can be kind of sad how hooked on a book i can get lol.

I just finished the "Confessions of a Shopaholic" Trilogy as i find it necessary to read light books while I am studying but now that I am on break I am hitting the classics and history books again lol. I just started Bread Givers by Anzia Yezierska.

the red tent is an awsome book there is also some what of a sequal to it that is pretty good. right now im reading interview with a vampire by ann rice

Black boy and Flowers for Algernon are great reads.

I read Harry Potter 1-3 all in 2 weeks, and I read 4 in about 4 days and 5 in a week

Lost Boy, Lost Girl by Peter Straub. It's pretty good so far.

I tried reading The House of Sand and Fog a few months ago and could NOT get into it. Now I see it's coming out as a movie and the movie looks good.

House of Sand and Fog was a good book. I am looking forward to seeing the movie.:earseek:

I am reading The Five People You Meet In Heaven. Very good book. Next I'm going to FINALLY read Armageddon (sp?) of the Left Behind Series. I've had it since it first came out but haven't had a chance to read it. It's one of those books that I'll have to free up a couple of days for because once I start it, I won't stop till I'm done! It's a great series. After that I'll steal my Dads Davinci Code. He said it's very good. I'm looking forward to getting back into reading. I really miss it!

very appropriately, a biography of Walt Disney

also rereading East of Eden...although it feels like the first time I am reading it since the last time was about 35 years ago.

I am reading "Sick Puppy" by Carl Hiaasen. It takes place in Florida so I am enjoying it. My DD's fiance gave it to me. It's different.

I know what you mean about getting hooked on a book. When I was 16 (about 100 years ago) I started reading "The Exorcist" during study hall at school at about 1:00 pm on a Friday afternoon. I stayed up until 6:00 the next morning reading it! I think I was too scared to turn the light off! Luckily it was a weekend. I had invited 2 friends to spend the night and I ignored them the whole time!

Other recent good reads: Mystic River, Gideon; and two books about Howard Dean.

If you like Carl Hiassen, try Tim Dorsey. He has a main character, Serge A. Storms, and it's a little twisted, but funny. His books are also in Florida and he throws in some neat little history. (Serge is mentally unstable and knows all these weird little facts.)

I just started Under the Tuscan Sun, not realizing they were memoirs. I loved the movie. The book isn't doing much for me right now.

The Gift Of Fear by Gavin DeBecker. I highly recommend it. It may save your life someday.

Blow Fly by Patricia Cornwell

I am entertwining that light hearted read :p with Paige by Paige - Trading Spaces little book.

I LOVE those Stephanie Plus books- fun stuff.

My all time favorite author is Sue Grafton...she's due out for a new one sometime soon (I hope). I also like Diane Mott Davidson.

Planet of the umps by former AL Umpire Ken Kaiser

Finishing up The Blood Canticle by Anne Rice.

Starting The DaVinci Code tomorrow.

It's very nice to be finished with school so I can read something entertaining :D

The Pythons Autobiography By The Pythons. Described on the inside jacket as the 'full blockbusting story of Monty Python"

It's literally the heaviest book I've read in a long time.

I recently finished the Lovely Bones, The Secret Life of Bees, Mystic River and The Sparrow. We have finished all nine of Janet Evanovich books and my girls got so hooked on them they had their heads in the books constantly. I got the DaVinci Code for Christmas so will be reading it shortly. I want to read the Five People You Meet in Heaven. I got a few books for Christmas so will be reading for a while.
