My daughter spends a lot of time using her blow dryer on her thick straight hair. I thought a great blow dryer that might cut her time down would be a nice Christmas present. What can you recommend?

I also have a daughter with curly hair as well. Is there a dryer straightener combo you like?

THANKS!

The girls in our family like Chi hair dyers for thick hair.

Ooohhh, I'm so glad you asked this question. I have thick, curly hair, although I usually only blow dry my bangs/top of my hair. But the ones that I usually get (the ones at Walmart) don't really do it for me. I hope that other people chime in with their faves!!!

i love chi blow dryers! they get my hair dry sooo fast. i like the turbo or pro

Seems like Chi must be the way to go with thick, curly hair. I have hair that is just past my shoulders, and basically to blow it dry takes 1/2 hour and it still is not completely dry so I will let it air dry for another hour, then it takes about 45 minutes to straighten:scared1:
I always do it the night before work because it takes so long!! I think I will have to look into investing in a Chi set, because it takes so long to straighten my hair that I don't do it that much anymore.

T3. They are crazy expensive (you can get them for 1/2 price on ebay) but it is the best blow dryer I've ever owned. I have thick, thick hair, it cuts my drying time in half. Incidentally, it is the same dryer my hairdresser uses.

I love my Elchim and have had it forever. Just make sure the vent is always clean.

I just ordered my second Remington Ceramic Pearl AC Professional Dryer - $35 at WalMart. I love this dryer!! My daughter has extremely thick curly hair that is very long and it easily dries her hair. My first dryer lasted about 3-4 years and is used on a daily basis.....usually a dryer only lasts us about 4-6 months...

I agree on the Remington; mine is great on drying thick, naturally curly hair. In terms of speed, I've also found oils produced from nuts (the Morrocan and Brazilian Nut lines) to be really helpful.

I have a standard revlon dryer with a tourmaline brush. Its a large round brush from Ulta or Sallys if you have that and it cut my drying time down significantly. The bes thing I ever did was to have my stylist actually thin out my hair. It was terribly thick before that, still is but more manageable at least.
