I thought that while members of my family were riding the big rides(Tower of Terror, Rockin etc.)
I would take our toddlers ages 1-4 to other areas of the park.

What attractions would the young children enjoy? and not be restricted to ride or participate in.

Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground is all that I can think of.

Playhouse Disney.
Muppets 3-D. :Pinkbounc
Voyage of the Little Mermaid. :woohoo:

Those are the ones my 18 month old son liked. along with the Playground and Sci-Fi.

Edited to add: and I liked teh Little Mermaid (insert Male pig refernce here :teeth: )

Voyage of the Little Mermaid...

But for most of these shows, she is going to need help with more than one little one.

for a 1- 4 year old muppets and mermaid can be quite scary.

I agree with Little Mermaid (although it was scary for my girls last year when they were 1.5 and 2.5). When we go in December we're having lunch at Hollywood and Vine Little Einsteins & JoJo's character meal. You could give that a try! Have fun! -Lesley
P.S. They also liked meeting Woody & the toy story characters, and the Playhouse Disney show

My DD was almost 3 on our last trip and here are her picks...

LOVED IT!
Dumbo
Magic Carpets
Carousel
Small World
Pooh
Snow white (a little scared but still wanted to do it again)
Country Bears
Jungle Cruise
Kilimanjaro Safari
Muppet 3D
Shrunk the Kids play area
Philharmagic
Arials play area
Pooh's play area
Every parade that passed by
All the fireworks show
Hoop Dee Doo
Turtle Talk w. Crush

and every character we saw (especially the princess breakfast)

JUST A BIT TOO SCARY
Honey I shrunk the audience
It's tough to be a bug
Haunted mansion
PoC
Maelstrom

COULD CARE LESS
Tomorrow Land Transit
Great Movie Ride
Spaceship Earth
Rio del Tiempo

For the most part she seemed to love everything she did of course she was about 2 , and in some cases 4, inches to short for some of the bigger rides . Since the trip last Dec (05) she still talks about most of the rides and even says that she wants to ride some that she thought too scary last time.

Hope this helps
Will

Just a warning that Honey, I Shrunk the Kids playground doesn't always open at park opening. You'll have to check the times guide when you get there. When we were there in June it didn't open until 10:00.

I personally feel that there isn't much for toddlers at MGM. JMO!

You might even want to sleep in a bit with the babies and let the others go ahead to Disney Studios.

My son was 3 last year when we went. He loved all the characters at MGM. There are some at the hat, some on Mickey Ave outside of the trailers, and Sorcerer Mickey is inside on Mickey Ave. He also loved the Playhouse Disney show and the Muppet 3D Movie.

He didn't like the Honey, I Shrunk playground too much and The Great Movie Ride scared him. We didn't try Mermaid.

I have not been yet, looking forward to my trip, but the parade that goes by at 4:30 or so sounds really neat, I bet you could get those kiddos to sit for that, throw in some ice cream and you have happy campers!!!

I took mine at almost 1 and almost 3. Both LOVED Playhouse Disney. DD loved mermaid, DS was ok with it. Neither really kept the glasses on for Muppets (but mom and dad liked it). They loved Fantasmic, but waiting for it to start was tourture! There wasn't much else for them to do (the books said the kids had to be four to go in the playground, so we didn't even try)

Last December we went with our DS, who was 2.5 at the time. He loved playhouse disney, Little mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and also the new stunt show. He also enjoyed just meeting as many characters as possible!

DS loved the muppets, little mermaid, the great movie ride, fantastmic, playhouse disney and light, motor action. He was almost 2&1/2 and nothing scared him. Every once and a while he would grab my hand just to make sure I was still there.
