Sizzix? and will they save me money on die cuts?

Sizzix is a die cutting system - machine and dies. The machine itself runs about $70-80. Depending on which you want, the alphabet sets are $170-$250. Upper and lower case are separate sets. Number sets ($65-85) and punctuation ($35-$75) are separate. Other dies range in price from $9 to $15. All these prices are based on what the sizzix website says. They do have sales there, but if you purchase at a local store you can probably find a coupon to use.

I don't know it owning a sizzix really saves money on die cuts. In my case I know it doesn't because I keeping seeing more dies that I just have to own. :p

ookiedookie-sounds like more work and not so much fun...who knows maybe I'll try it someday but not right now-thanks!

I had no idea what sizzix's were until about a week ago when I needed some letters for a layout I was working on. I went to the LSS and they didn't have what I wanted so I asked if they had differant colors and was told that I could buy whatever color paper I needed and that they could cut them out for me. Well, I had to spell Cinderella's Surprise Celebration and I felt bad making her sit there and do it so I said I would do it. And it was on the sizzix and I loved it. And to think I have spent countless hours using an exacto knife cutting out letters that I printed from the computer. It is very expensive but if you use alot of letters in your scrapbook, I think it is worth it. I just went and got mine tonight at Michaels with 40 % off. I did notice that there are some on Ebay that you can BUY NOW for a really cheap price if you don't have a coupon for a local craft store.

oh I dont know...I'm all confused...I usually use stencils for my letters...but I'm beging to no like the look...sizzix would be cool...and look great...I dont know...I'll have to see if our scrapbook store has something like this...thanks!

Many LSS have die cutting systems that you can use if you buy the paper from them. If you're not interested in investing in a sizzix (or quickuts) of your own, that's a good way to go. You can cut all you need (or want) while your there and then go home to use them. And the stores I've been to have the larger machines so you're not limited to die cuts that are around 4x6. Many will take full sheets of paper. And the selections are often really good too.

I saw one today...and I has a 40% off coupon at AC Morre...but I didnt get it...not in the budget this week...but I dont know...it seems cool...and it would be lots of fun. but I dont know...verdict is still out...but thanks for the info! it helps!

I have a sizzix, over 100 dies AND 3 alphabets. You couldl say I'm a sizzix addict. I've never paid full price for any of the dies or the machine and family and friends always know what to get me - more dies. My 6 year old loves it and we use constantly. I actually took it to her 1st grade class today and the kids got to make their own cuts and keep to use when they work on their scrapbooks each Friday. I was using lots of letters and such for titles and this is so much better. It's a big toy, but it sure is fun.

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!

I really like mine, but I only use it for alphabets, I don't have too many other dies. I have just ordered my 3rd alphabet though, so does that make me an addict too???

I broke the bank this week. I went to Michaels to get the Sizzix's machine and one alphabet, well the cashier rang them up as 2 seperate orders so I could get them at the same time, then he gave me the 40% coupons back....so of course I had to go back and get the lowercase alphabet. So that left me with one coupon left so I went back to get numbers and they had 25% off all scrapbook storage so I had to get that. I am now in the negative with my scrapping budget but it was so worth it.

well, I guess this is going to be worth it..we will have to see...I like using die cuts...so I'll have to invest in this...still have some pages to do...Thanks!

I love mine....I have the shadow set and another one and am going to get the new one. I have few of the other dies too....don't think you would be sorry if you got it.
