What are your WDW traditions?

We have a few as well...Love this thread.

1) Our morning at AK we must stop at the Tusker house and have one of their delicious Cinnamon Buns, hot off the hot bricks and they are huge!!

2) A Dole Whip and sit and watch the people on the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House.

3) Watching them make the candy in the front window of the Candy Couldron store (is that the name of it?) at Downtown Disney West side.

4) We must have a least one Safari at the Rainforest Cafe Downtown Disney. My daughter and her friend got the Caesar salad and thought they should have had 5 other people helping them eat it.!! LOL

Go to Disney Marketplace the first day in Florida.

That's it for now!!!

Have a Disney Day!!!

John & Lynn & Brandi

The one we have always done is lunch at Pinocchio's House (with a window seat) and wave at the boats from Its a Small World.

Waving to the entrance sign
Eating at Jungle Jim's the first night
Bed early to hit the MK first day, first park
Lunch at CP on 1st MK day
One meal at Chef Mickey's
Giant Rice crispie treat from the villian's store at MGM
Weeping at the RR station on the last night at MK, I really thought this one was going to end after the DVC purchase--it didn't LOL:o

Great thread.

1) We always eat one night at Chef Mickeys.
2) Ride Spaceship earth as our last ride for the night at EPCOT
3) Always ride ITASMW late at night at MK
4) Haunted Mansion is our traditional never miss ride

I thought of a few more.....

Mgm must be our first park and rockin rollercoaster must be our first ride. It is my bf's favorite and since I pretty much got my choice of when to go and where to stay....I let him pick the first ride.

We always eat our way through WS. No sit down meals that day....must snack at every country.

We always do one semi- late night swim. We started this tradition when we took my dance team down for their first competition. It was our place to go to escape the girls and get a moment alone. Now we go down alone but it is still a favorite thing to do.

1) check into POR, take the boat to Downtown Disney, and eat ice cream at Ghiradelli's
2) get refillable mugs from POR food court
3) have family picture taken in front of each park's symbol (castle, spaceship earth, Mickey's hat, tree of life)
4) buy a coffee mug
5) buy a photo album
6) eat several Minnie strawberry fruit bars at Epcot
7) eat a hot dog from Casey's
8) eat a turkey leg
9) always spend night of first full day at Epcot and see Illuminations
10) always spend last full day at MK
11) take lots and lots and lots of pictures, and
12) always get depressed when it's time to leave :-(

Fun to read…..

1. First day at MGM for lunch at Brown Derby. (I miss the piano lady, does anyone remember her name? Would love to look for her CD.)
2. Mk: must do Peter Pan and HM
3. EPCOT: Must eat at one new place and ride Listen to the Land
4. Last day before airplane. Going to DTD.

I agree with the first the person who started this thread... I love to turn the TV on once I get into my Disney Hotel and watch the ZIP A DEE DOO DAA Disney Stations! It reminds me how much there is to do at Disney and how much I love it there!

I have so many things that we always do at Disney, but here are a few new ones we started in August:

Eat lunch at the restaraunt by Its A Small World, sit by a window overlooking the boats and wave at everyone as the float by!

Snack around the world at EPCOT!

DisneyQuest!

Ride the PeopleMover (can't remember its new name) over and over and over again....

Visit other hotels that we've never stayed at

The list could go on and on!

Getting into the room and immediately turning the TV to the Disney Park channel.

EE mornings.

Dinner at Cape May Cafe.

Riding Cinderella's Golden Carousel.

Shopping at DTD.

1. ALWAYS ride the TTA first thing when we arrive and last thing before head for home.

2. Best traditions - Dole Whip, rice krispie bar, Cosmic Rays, Sci -Fi

3. Always ride the monorail, even when we are not staying at a monorail hotel.

4. Ride all the classic rides, Pirates, haunted Mansion, etc. every day
:D :D :D

This is a FABULOUS thread!

As soon as the car hits Disney property, Hubby and I say "We're baaaaaaaaaaaaaack!"

Turning on the Disney Park channel as soon as we get in the room.

Setting up our own in-room mini bar (I pack cooler with wine, juice boxes, etc.).

EPCOT is always first full-day park--we visit our Leave a Legacy photo first.

Illuminations as many nights as our stamina will allow.

Pints at the Rose & Crown before dinner at Le Cellier--cheese soup!

At least one Dole Whip.

At least two Skol Brods for Hubby at Kringala Bakery.

Animation Tour at MGM.

Buying a Christmas Ball for my mother-in-law.

Trying at least one new restaurant.

Working up the nerve to try one scary (to me) ride I have not tried before and buying a pin to commemorate it.

Screaming and laughing through Alien Encounter.

Getting the lowest score imaginable on Space Ranger Spin.

My Hubby sining Bella Notta as we pass Tony's.

Kona press pot every morning at the Kona Cafe in Poly.

Food Rocks--I just love it, Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Spaceship Earth.

DINOSAUR!

A vegetarian lunch at Tusker House.

Trying to get on Test Track and being told it is down. Haven't gotten on it yet!

Back Scratchers at the Poly.

Buying the lastest Disney Fun Barbie for my collection.

Buying a piece of animation art or an art poster. We have turned our stairwell into an animation gallery.

Planning the next trip on the way home.

Our tradition starts when we get in the car to go to the airport. I look at my dd and say "Hey, sweetie, I have a great idea!!! ...... Let's go to DisneyWorld!" and she says "that's a great idea!". We do it every trip, about a hundred times until we get there, taking turns. (Ok, so it started when she was 3, can you tell?)

THEN, when we get there, the first ride is BTMRR, also known as the "little trains".

My MAJOR tradition is to do Spaceship Earth the very first thing of the entire vacation, and the very last thing also. I always whisper "Goodbye" on the last ride.

2) Beaver Tails at Epcot - Canada

3) Buy a piece of shell jewelry @ The Living Seas

Lots more lesser ones.......

Wow this is a great thread!

Some of our traditions are:

Hot dogs at Caseys on the way out and watching the cartoons in the back while eating them.

Riding the People mover over and over

Mickey ice cream bars

Rice Krispy treats from the Boardwalk bakery (I don't eat them there, I buy it on the last day to take home, and then I feel like I still have the magic with me at home!)

Mickey gummie candy from Down Town Disney candy shop.

Great thread!

We start by checking into CR, getting our refillable mugs, turning on Disney channel and then head to MK, always by monorail from CR.

At MK, we take a picture of all of us just past the tunnel (on the left), under the streetlamp that always seems to have a garbage can next to it - we're smiling from ear to ear. (on the day we leave, we take the same picture on our way out, getting the exit sign in the picture, and we're frowning)

We always start with Pirates

We must have a Casey's hot dog in the middle of the day, and a cookie from the bakery

At EPCOT, we always start with Living with the Land.

At MGM, we start with the muppet 3-d movie and never miss the animation tour.

At AK, we start with Dinosaur then head to the safari, first stopping for fresh apples.

We have to see the electric water pageant at least once from our CR tower balcony

We always eat at least once at Planet Hollywood, Chef Mickey's and the castle.

We have to rent water sprites

Take the last flight home possible, to enjoy MK the last day.

We always arrive mid morning and leisurely check in. When we get to our room, we immediately turn on the "zip-a-dee-doo-dah" channel, which we also fondly call the propaganda channel. :) Then we freshen up and look through our pamphlets from all the parks. This gets us recharged after a long morning of travel.

Next we get on the bus a head to EPCOT for lunch in Mexico. I always get a Margarita and DH always get a strawberry daiquiri. Now we're ready for some fun!

Other traditions we have:

*Thursday night 80's night at 8 Trax
*breakfast at Concourse Steakhouse (the Sticky Buns are a MUST!)
*Safari ride first thing in AM
*watch the Castle change colors from the observation deck at the Contemporary

Sit front and center at the Diamond Horseshoe and get picked on (well that one is OVER),

Get the kids picture taken in front of the Liberty Square Riverboat in the stockade.

Buy Cinnamon sugared almonds in Adventureland (they don't taste as good anywhere else).

Touch the smooth bat head (last one before boarding the doom buggies) in the HM.

Pull the well rope outside Indiana Jones.

Eat at a new country in Epcot.

Watch British Invasion at least twice and King Arthur's players at least once.

Eat breakfast at the bakery in Norway.

Eat tacos at the stand in Mexico.

Of course dupe someone into trying Beverly - then run like the wind!

This is a great question. The first nite in Orlando we always go to bed early, as to have a fresh start in the morning.
When we go to MK, we always ride the People Mover, Iknow the name has changed, but will always think of it as the People Mover.
From there, we wander around from ride to ride.

We always stop at the Main Street bakery, for some kind of yummy when leaving the park.

We always try for one trip on the Monorail.

We always head to DTD the first nite there, and usually the nite before we go home for some souveniers.
I guess we have the most "rules" for MK, and just kind of play the rest of the parks by ear.

Take picture of wife and daughter with wooden indian on Main Street, USA. Take picture of son with Minnie.

Swiss Family Treehouse is a tradition for us since no one wants to do it but the DW forces us to. We were hot and tired on our 1st visit to WDW and one of the kids was in a stroller. We came upon the Swiss Family Treehouse and went through the attraction before we realized how much stair climbing was involved. Swiss Family Treehouse is a really neat attraction and can be pleasant if its not crowded; however, it is not a "must do" attraction for us, even though we must do it on every visit to WDW.

What a great thread!

2. Breakfast at Crystal Palace.
3. Riding Haunted Mansion first.
4. Hotdogs at Casey's Corner.
5. Dinner at Chef Mickey's. (Lots of eating at Disney :D )
