I am an absolute sucker for tradtions and I want to hear everyone's.

Here are some of mine.....

Screaming and crying out "We're Home!" when we go through the Walt Disney World gate

Turning on the Disney Channel the second I get into the hotel room. I have to hear the Zip a Dee Do Da Tip for Today in order for it to sink in that I'm home :)

Going to Goodings at the Crossroads to pick up munchies and breakfast foods the first night

Going to Downtown Disney and Wolfgang Puck Cafe the first night

Going to the World of Disney the first night

Going to the Magic Kingdom as our first park! (MUST ride the monorail, not the ferry)

Standing at the top of main street and just looking in awe at the castle (there are usually tears involved ;) )

Splash Mountain MUST be the first official ride

Eating lunch at Columbia Harbour House

Going to Epcot the first night and riding Spaceship Earth

Watching Illuminations the first night :)

Somewhere during every trip I must...

have a churro

& a mickey ice cream bar

& a mickey pretzel

& popcorn from Main Street

(I'm a bit food oriented @ WDW ;) )

go to typhoon lagoon at least twice

go to Disney Quest

My goodness the list could go on and on....please tell me your Traditions :)

99% of the time Pirates of the Caribbean is our first ride....it started when my cousin and I were little. We'd go buy a gun and fight the pirates, then spend the rest of the day shooting things in the other rides.:o

At MK we take the monorail in and the ferry out....always.

And we must get Mickey ice creams and Casey's hot dogs

In my entire life I have never left a park at closing time. I am usually the one wandering around enjoying the empty parks...I'm sure the CMs are thinking..."Will she ever leave????":)

That is quite a list of traditions!!!

Mom and I must have a dole pineapple whip. We usually wait until later afternoon, when DS will usually fall asleep. We *run* and get them, then sit under the roof on the porch by the bridge and relax....

We love it!!

shelly

Our tradition is a dole whip right after riding Pirates of the
Carribean.

Heres a few from MK
Me singing ZippyDeeDoDah(quite badly) going through the gates while DW videos and DD with the "I hope no one sees us" attitude .LOL

DW making me get haircut at MK. This cueball can't take many more.;)

POC and mumbling Yo Ho Yo Ho. Its not really a family song if you read the lyrics. Can never remember half of them any way except for Yo Ho. Dead men tell no tales... tales... tales....
http://www.ginevra2000.it/Disney/Midi/yoho.mid

Haunted Mansion When the crypt doors creak and the tombstones quake. Spooks come out for a swinging wake. Happy Haunts materialize and begin to vocalize.

BTRR at night. WooWooing through the tunnels.

Riding the TTA FastPass not required. Relaxation. Ahh:)

Casey's hotdogs leaving at night. Wheres the Tums?;)

omg...we have a lot! LOL!

We always eat at a country in epcot

I always buy something from a country.

I always buy one picture from the entrance of one park.

I always buy a magnet picture frame w/ the year's "theme".

I always buy a snowglobe w/ the year's "theme".

I always buy a photo album w/ the year's "theme".

Pressed pennies.

We always do one "big" thing a trip (Hoop dee doo, cirque, etc.)

Mickey rice crispie treat!! Yum!!

Character meal.

We usually go to MK first and ride Space Mountain...that'll change for our next trip b/c I'm pregnant. :) I'm sure we'll have LOTS of new traditions after the baby is born.

I have to ride Dumbo first thing on EE morning.

Buying and wearing new ears every trip.

Going to the Shooting Gallery and then watching the afternoon parade in Frontierland.

Taking a million pictures to remember each precious moment spent with my family in my favorite place.

we usually time our drive to where we arrive at WDW just as the sun's coming up. I love to see the girls faces when they wake up to Disney. really cool.

epcot for illuminations the first night(always!)

the petting zoo at fort wilderness is usually our very first official disney activity. do any of you remember the little pony named "peanut" that was there for years? my dd's favorite for years.

chef mickey's in the contemporary

sneaking in to one of the other resorts pool area

chartered fishing trip from dixie landings(POR)

riding in the front of the monorail

a hot dog from casey's

the buffet at the Biergarten in Germany(Epcot)

a walk and a ice cream at night on the boardwalk

just a few...i'm sure there's many more I can't think of just now!

Have to have dinner at Chef Mickey's the first night to get in the Disney mood (like that's hard), must see the fireworks from MK, then ride the ferry back to the Poly (where we always stay, so I guess that's a tradition), then wake up our first morning and have the character breakfast at Ohana's, go to MK afterwards and ride Dumbo. The rest of the time is spontaneous, or so it seems.

Ours is a very simple one that originated during our first trip, when my babies were 5 and 3 1/2: Eating cotton candy in Epcot's World Showcase!

Oh, it is a must!

For us it's:
- Having some of the wonderful treats at the Kringla Bakery in Norway and feed the cute, little birds with the crumbs.

-Go to Icestation Cool and lure someone into drinking the Italian stuff.

-Make at least on circle of Blizzard Beach in the lazy river - Trying to avoid getting sneezed at when passing the hut in the middle of the river.

-Have an icecream at Ghiradelli's at DD.

Our tradition at the theme parks--it's MK that first day. First thing is to hop aboard the train and circle the Magic Kingdom. Then on to the Tomorrowland Transportation Authority for another ride around--

Our "used to be" tradition was to first have breakfast at Tony's. But can't do THAT anymore--.

...until now.

Mine are few but rather diverse.

- I must buy bath salts in Japan at EPCOT and then take a long, hot bath back at the room. (We usually stay at OKW, but this coming trip we're staying at BWV. I booked somewhere that had a deep tub.)

- I must have a Kungaloosh at The Adventurer's Club. I'm not a big fan of fruity, mixed drinks (more of scotch kind-of guy), but for some silly reason, I've always started my night at AC with a Kungaloosh.

- I must have dinner at The Brown Derby. In my humble opinion, this is one of the very best restaurants at WDW.

- I must ride Tower of Terror twice in a row.

and lastly

- I must feed the ducks at the gazebo (sp?) right after the bridge coming from the Yacht Club going to the Boardwalk Villas. I usually go buy a loaf of bread at the bakery and then sit out there and feed the ducks. It's a karma thing.

two traditions for us:
1) dinner at chef mickeys followed by watching the fireworks from the observation deck the first night in the world...
2) after e-ticket night at mk, we grab a hotdog at caseys and watch the people leave the park...we don't leave the park until we are just about the last people in the park...it's nice to walk down main street and have it almost to yourself....

sunking

- Drinks/snacks at Crockett's Tavern
- Always "camp-out" at a particular spot at Typhoon Lagoon
- "Garbage Pail" (ice cream) at Typhoon Lagoon
- Mass at the Poly (boo-hoo we now have to go off-site)

I love this thread.....:teeth: :teeth: :teeth:
Let's see........
My DD and I each have a goal. Mine is to stay at every WDW resort, and hers is to swim in every pool. So it's tradition to take pictures of the resort sign and check in. And to take a picture of DD in the pool.

Then.....
MK has to be the first park to visit.
Must be at the rope drop to be one of the first on Big Thunder Mtn.
Ride Kilimanjaro Safari first thing in the morning.
Ride "It's a small world" at least twice.
Ride "Great Movie Ride"

As for food......
At least one Character meal.
Mickey Ice Cream Bars
Casey's hot dogs during the parade.
and for DH....a Viking Beer at Epcot.

Shopping......
DD gets to pick one item that Mom cannot say "no" to.
Purchase a dated Christmas ornament.
Add to my luggage set....only one piece left to get :D

That's it for now....but there are always new traditions that my DD thinks up.....:earsgirl:

For us its:

Eating dinner at Chef Mickeys the first night we're there-

Saving the best for last, MK is always the park we visit the day before we go home-

After leaving the MK we stroll around until we can get a seat on the Monorail then we ride it to Epcot and usually as we round the park Illuminations is going on and we get to see the fireworks again. As we watch the castle fade in the distance my DD and DS are in tears and we decide we must plan another trip :)

We have a regular set of traditions as well as a set depending on where we are staying (there is no way I could list all of them):

If we are staying at the Yatch Club:
-Rainforest Cafe for dinner the first night (not my fav but its fun)
-Late night swimming
-Volley Ball
-Play 18 holes

If We are at the GF:
-V&A for dinner the first night and the night before we head home
-My wife gets a spa treatment while I go ski or golf

Traditions for Every Vacation:
-a self taken picture of my wife and I standing in front of each of the park Icons (the castle, the tree of life, spaceship earth, the giant micky hat (we used to do it in front of the chinese theater)
-frozen bannana's at AK
-watching the MK fireworks from the beach at the poly after dinner at O'hana's
-one of the days we go to both TL and BB (one in the morning the other in the afternoon) then at night head to DQ.
-Shopping at downtown, and having lunch at Wolfgang Pucks on our last day.

Then of course we have our restaurant list that are a must... 1900 park fare, Cape May (both for breakfast); Dinners at: Boma, WCC, rotating restaurants in the world showcase, beaches n' cream.

Wow!!! I wrote more then I wanted to but yeah... anyways thats our list of traditions!
