What are your Valentines day plans.

We will be ordering food and staying in. We decided we got get anything for each other instead we will spend that money in whatever we want at WDW the week after valentines day.

It'll probably remain a fantasy forever, but my dream is to spend Valentine's Day at WDW, having dinner at Tony's...spaghetti and meatballs, of course. I don't care that a lot of folks don't like the food there, it's the whole Lady and the Tramp thing.

Step 1: acquire suitable partner
Step 2: control weather in February
you get the idea...

My husband is an executive chef and so we have never celebrated valentines since he is always working that day (it is one of the busiest days of the year). However, it is a tradition with the kids that we always eat spaghetti and meatballs for dinner, and then watch lady and the tramp together. Its the perfect romantic movie!!

Today is my DH's birthday and tomorrow is Valentine's day. This year we are going to Hawaii! Great present right? The trip just happened to be planned at this time, but I couldn't be happier right now.:yay: This Winter has been brutal: cold, snow, repeat; too many times to count.

Oh and I bought DH a heart shaped tin of Altoids.:rotfl:

Just realized this is the Budget board, we have been waiting and saving for this trip for 35 years.....

Bringing DDs to the movies, and spending a quiet evening at home. I got DH a card and some chocolates.

I picked up 3 "big kiss"-es on after-Christmas clearance for my husband and the two kids. The kids have already filled out their sweet-tart Valentines for their classmates (bought on clearance last year, but that kind of candy lasts and lasts) so of course we're likely to be still cancelled tomorrow... but for our dinner we'll have some steaks and lobster tails I bought on special a while back and have been keeping in the freezer.

Not the most romantic thing in the world, but budget, at least. :)

Taking the day off to be with Wifey all day without kids. I don't think I should post what my plans are here on this board :thumbsup2

Lol, have fun ;)

We're in the midst of a snowstorm and kids are off from school tomorrow again tomorrow, so I'll be working from home. I had a feeling that would be the case, so yesterday I stopped at the Dean and Deluca near my office and got cheese, baguette, dried fruit, nuts and also some macarons from the store next door. Spent way too much, but I work in Georgetown (DC) so there you go. The card I got for DH is French-themed, so the food goes along with it. Got the boys some candy and we'll all just pig out and hang out. DH usually brings me flowers but stops on the way from work, so I guess whether I get anything depends on whether he works from home or not tomorrow.

I think this year is going to be particularly lame-sauce.

We split up the holidays each year so this year I'm in charge of Valentine's Day and he's in charge of our anniversary. Next year we'll swap. I thought I was going to be having a medical procedure today that would have had me on a liquid diet all weekend so we celebrated last weekend. I got him a card, chocolates, and a couple's massage, which, to be fair, was awesome. We were supposed to go to Maggiano's, but he wasn't in the mood for pasta so we wound up at Red Robin. Nothing says "romantic meal" like a selection of free balloons on the way out.

He doesn't get home from work until after 9pm, so I have a feeling tomorrow night is going to be me, the Olympics, and a frozen pizza. Ahh, romance!

We're spending the weekend at the beach. It's just up the road from the house so not far. Having Chinese for dinner and going out on Saturday. We do gifts but with me going to WDW in May that's my present. I got him a card plus chocolate.

I have filets and have dug out a path to my grill. We will have mashed potatoes, wedge salad and carrot cake for dessert.

We have a sick kid (after two of the others puked last week and early this week) so my Valentine's Day is pretty much cleaning up vomit and diarrhea.

Well I am glad I planned a quiet dinner at home this evening. DH sprained his ankle walking to the office yesterday! Thankfully his foot dr was able to see him rather than us spending the day in the ER.

On the other hand I got a Lady Antebellum CD as my Valentine gift. I was hoping I would get it!

We will spend the evening having mexican take out for dinner and watching a House of Cards that was released on Netflix today.

My husband is working so heart raviolis from a local Italian market for the kids and I. They also got some chocolate and Minecraft papercraft sets so I am sure they will be busy.

It's snowing again. Sigh. So we are having dinner at home. Makes for a cozy dinner for four.

We have been so good with not wasting money on eating out and tonight I made homemade pizzas (actually they are still in the oven) and this morning I made pink heart shaped pancakes for my family. Aside from that we didn't get any gifts etc. Grandma bought the kids each a box of chocolate though. They loved it!!

We actually spent the day in ER for anti-nausea drugs and bags of fluid for dehydration. Do we know how to party or not?

Oh I am so sorry. The stomach flu is just awful. I hope everyone is feeling better soon. I had it the day after we got home from Disney, which happened to be Christmas Eve.

For Valentines Day I made a fabulous pizza dough in my new bread maker, and then we made homemade heart shape pizzas and watched Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2. It was a really cute movie and the pizza was soooo good!
However, it's a pretty long process. Making the dough, chopping veggies, cooking chicken and bacon for the pizza, cooking the pizza etc was somewhere around 3 to 3.5 hours:rolleyes1. Next time I will make the dough and freeze it ahead of time so it doesn't take so long.

We usually go very small. But this year we celebrated.

Went with friends for dinner and then a live play at the local college. ($32 per couple for dinner and play). Then, beautiful desserts in front of a fire at their home.

DH also gave me a Mickey Mouse card, Fannie May candy, and alstromeria flowers.

I made a card for him.

LOTS of fun for just over $50.

We were too tired to enjoy the red/black lingerie I got super cheap at Kohls last March until 12/15
