We're leaving next week and I don't think I'm super excited because I do not have one thing planned for us, including the hotel, but if you had to just pick one or two things to do in Niagra what would be your hands down favorite. I have three DD's 7, 9, & 16.

We're just doing an overnight on the way back from visiting family.

Do they have multi-use tickets that are good for multiple attractions and if so are they worth it.

Thanks for any and all suggestions.

I was just there in June (stayed in Canada). 2 things that are not to be missed, IMO:

Cave of the Winds on the American side
Maid of the Mist on either side

There are combo tickets which are worthwhile if you want to do all/most of the activities.

My recommendations:

Embassy Suites Fallsview (Canadian Side)
Maid of the Mist

I'm here in Buffalo, only a 20 minute drive from the falls. Cave of the Winds and Maid of the Mist are pretty spectacular and a definite do if you have time. On the Canadian side is Clifton hill, with all of the gimmicky tourist stuff like wax museums and cool shops and eateries. Alos on the Canadian side is the butterfly conservatory as well as bird kingdom, which is an aviary type of thing. Here in Buffalo, and niagara falls, there are lots of things to see and do..just walking the falls this time of year is a nice afternoon!
Godd luck and have a great trip!

Definitely these two !!!!! Agree 100%!!
And if time going under the Canadian falls in their tunnels also but the American side cave of the winds if you can only do 2 things.

We love Niagara Falls. It is so awe inspiring and beautiful, even with all the commercial activity in the area the Falls themselves are hard to comprehend the raw force and beauty until you see them in person.

It depends on what you like. We can't go without stopping at the WWE store :laughing:

What kind of budget for your hotel? The Days Inn about two blocks from Clifton Hill is great. Not too expensive and a decent hotel. Walking distance to everything. The Courtyard Marriott is a little more expensive, but closer and very nice. We usually stay at either of the two.

My husband doesn't "do" boats so I haven't done the Maid of the Mist since I was a kid, but I remember it being awesome.

We loved the Aviary - I can't think of what it's called, but it's down by the Hershey's Chocolate store - which is another don't miss for us

The big Sky Wheel looks awesome. We've never done it, but I've always wanted to!

AAA sells a pass for this
See Niagara Falls' most popular attractions, including Journey Behind the Falls, Maid of the Mist, the White Water Walk, and more. Plus, enjoy priority access to all four attractions.
We did this last year and it included the shuttle bus service and also 50% off tickets to many other attractions. We really loved these and we went to the butterfly conservatory and on an aerial tram, each for half price.

Good luck!
PS I second the recommendation for Embassy Suites

Don't do Niagara's Fury - It's a 4-D "adventure" that wasn't worth it to us. We did love Journey Behind the Falls, Maid of the Mist, the Butterfly Conservatory and just walking near the Falls and through the "touristy" area. We also had dinner at the Watermark Restaurant that's at the top of the Hilton. It was awesome - expensive but awesome. All the above was on the Canadian side.

We just went over Memorial Davy weekend. (I believe there is another thread regarding Niagara Falls if you do a search)

I booked directly thru Mariiott for the Fallsview Marriott on the Canadian side. Every room has a straight on view of the Falls. There were so many rebates I felt we got a great deal. King room with jacuzzi in the bathroom, $75 off of dinner one night, and 2 free breakfast buffets for the 2 mornings. That alone was $80. Free shuttle service, and $20 in casino chips. The hotel was fabulous, and they offered us a higher floor for an additional $25/night.

DH & I have done all the major attractions before & we were only there for 2 days so we basically strolled the Falls, watched the fireworks (on the weekends),Butterfly conservatory, Clifton Hills and the casino. As a FYI, do not buy an Adventure Pass in the hotel lobby. Buy them at the Falls. Also, if you go to Clifton HIll, the attractions offer combo tickets that are well worth it. We did the wax museum and Ripleys, stopped for lunch and an ice cream and it took 1/2 the day.

Bring comfy shoes as you will do a ton of walking. I'm not in great shape, and climbing that hill was brutal. Hotel shuttles are not allowed on Falls Ave. and parking is difficult at best.

We had a wonderful time, but found things/food to be extremely expensive. So bring $$$. The exchange rate is basically even, so no bargain there.

I totally agree with antmaril.

We live 15 minutes away from Niagara Falls. We just did a one night getaway with the kids. Love Embassy Suites on the Canadian side- my kids love the free breakfast buffet at "The Keg" restaurant. You'll be amazed at the views of the falls from this hotel.

Our favorite thing is The Maid of the Mist. I would consider it a must do-your kids are going to love it! I have to warn you-they give you a rain poncho, but you still get pretty wet. If you own Crocs, this is the perfect occasion to wear them.:thumbsup2

Have fun! :yay:
