Hello,
We are traveling on our first family WDW trip in October (8th-14th), staying at Coronado Springs resort. We booked adjoining rooms with our friends. At the time of travel the ages of the children will be; two 8 year olds, a 4 year old and a 3.5 year old. We are very excited about the Dig site pool, arcade and rooms here, but I just saw online that there is a convention scheduled at CSR the week we are there so, my questions are
1.) Are the crowds really bad with conventions there? We asked for a cabana room, but now I'm afraid with the convention we'll end up in Ranchos
2.) should we stay or
3.) should we consider changing resorts to either POFQ or POR?

Thank you for your help

Conventions are the norm at CSR. That is one of the more affordable Disney convention resorts, so they get many booked there.

Adjoining rooms? Or connecting rooms?

I think most convention guests are located in the Casitias. But for more info I'd post on the CSR thread. Esp read the first page, lots of info.

It depends on the convention. We visited CSR when the Grainger convention was being held there and it was awful. Totally over crowded. Luggage stacked everywhere, impossible to get into the Peppermarket (the reason we were there) and people setting on every ledge available. I wouldn't have wanted to stay there during that convention

google the resort name about conventions, we did that when we stayed at CSR. can't remember the website. there where cocktail parties everynight outside of the main building & the hot tub was very busy at night. But during the day it was normal. We never had any problems getting served at Cafe Rix-we prefered it over peppermarket.

It had wonderful bus service.

I've stayed at CSR twice, and had no problems with the conventions. Actually, the buses were empty and so was the pool. You made a "request" for a room in Cabanas. There is no guarantee that you will be placed there, with or without a convention at the hotel.

There is also no guarantee you will get connecting rooms.

We were there during a convention and had zero problems, I mean we saw them here and there, but it wasn't a big deal and I would go back in a heartbeat :)

we stayed in the Ranchos section last time we were there, and had a fabulous time. I would go back and stay there in a heartbeat.

Same here! There was some sort of convention the week we were there but we didn't notice at all and had a fabulous time!
