What are your standards?

My 1st AKL trip is coming up and we are staying in a standard view room, is there any room/block of rooms, section, or area that would be a good place to be? I am hoping to be somewhat centrally located if at all possible.

Using this map you'll see that all of the standard rooms at AKL are on Ostrich and Giraffe Trail, facing the front of the building. To be the most centrally located to the pool/lobby/food you'll want to ask for Giraffe Trail either near the lobby or the elevators.
