Each time my family goes to Disney World, we take 1.) a family picture with Mickey in each park, and 2.) a family picture in front of each park’s icon. What are your DCL traditions, for photos or otherwise? I suspect some obvious answers would include pictures with Mickey/characters and family photos on the lobby staircase, but I’d like to know what other traditions you have/photos you take to commemorate each trip/port of call/ship?

On embarkation day we always have lunch at Parrot Cay (no longer on the Wonder, so that will no longer be a tradition!), the Sail Away party and in the evening, getting the All Hands on Deck cheese platter and pour over the Navigator for the next day. RELAX AND HAVE FUN!!!

We still go to the shows every night...even after 37 DCL cruises. I just love to go to them. I have seen them all dozens of times but it wouldn't feel right if I didn't go!!! It would feel like something is missing. When I was on the TA in Sept. we skipped dinner in the MDR and went to both showings of Tangled. Loved it.!!

I buy a pin for the year and each new Port. Also, take a photo of the life ring with the ship's name if it's a new ship to us.

Upon boarding, we go right to lunch at the buffet and as soon as the kids ditch us, DH and I kick off the cruise with a frozen BBC for dessert! One cruise we had to improvise as they didn't have any bananas on board yet.

At CC after lunch DH and I spend the afternoon out at the Heads Up Bar, just taking in the view and the music, and of course sipping tropical depressions. That is truly my happy place.

Touch the side of the ship upon entering...superstition to keep the ship afloat. I do it every time I get on an airplane too. Success every time!

Our tradition is me being a complete nutcase and driving DH completely insane until after the muster drill. Then I am officially on vacation. Also grabbing an all hands on deck and tea in the stateroom between activities.

My DW and I have many but the three that come to mind are...

1) My DW has to have a Bahama Mama as her first drink after boarding the ship.
2) I always tell the maintenance people how great a job they do in keeping the ship "Ship Shape".
3) The last night of the cruise I always buy a bottle of champagne for the table to share with our new found friends.

Oh, I also buy a DCL logo beach towel on most every cruise. I love it as a souvenir..easy to pack and we used them all the time at home.

Embarkation lunch outside on deck enjoying the views, even if its crazy windy or chilly, we just have to.
Sit at Quiet Cove or Satellite Falls until rooms are ready.
Palo Brunch first sea day.
Shows are a must.
Cove Cafe for coffee every morning for hubby, tea from drink station for me, sit outside and enjoy the views.
Palo Dinner.

Have a " Bon Voyage " cocktail as soon as we board

Midnight Mickey bars when the kids were younger. We would order them to the room and talk about our day. Now just mom and dad have Mickey bars, kids are out much later than that.

Dinner for Hubby and I at Palo on Pirate night, we are not fans of the Pirate night Menu

Going to see the show in the adult nightclub every night-so fun

I don't know if we have an on-board ritual, but we always make a point to go to Simply Delicious in Cocoa Beach on embarkation morning before we head to the port.

Here are some of ours....
Dress up for pirate night.
Late night dessert room service.
Daily room service breakfast...on the veranda.
Walk around the promenade, especially at night if it is rough and windy.
Get up early to see sun rise.
Movies on the deck.
Family trivia.
Last night booking of our next cruise for the 10% discount.

Beer at Bon Voyage in my DCL mug as soon as we board, unless we are in Concierge. If we are in Concierge, a glass of whisky/whiskey neat while setting up all my tastings.

Standing down on the Promenade and cheering for the Harbor Pilot as he disembarks.
