What are your plans for NY'sEve?

It is my sisters 30th birthday! We are all heading to Mohegan sun to see Chelsea Handler! We have a bus that will bring us there and back, so it should be a good time. Only con is that I will be finding out in the next few days if I need knee surgery :( I hope I don't have to have it this week Ir I will have to miss out.

We're going out to a fancy buffet around lunchtime. Then we will go over to my sister's to play a bunch of games to ring in the New Year's. New Year's Day I will host dinner/party to about 30 family members.

NYE nothing
NYD may go to the movies if anything good playing that I want to see.

DH and I will be spending the weekend with his sister and her husband at their home in OCMD. We'll take a day and go to Assateague and Chincoteague to see the ponies, but other than that, we'll just spend the time relaxing. We've been doing this for the past couple of years and I really enjoy it.

Sadly, just like Christmas Eve and Christmas, I will be working night shift on both NYE & NYD. :( Hopefully I will have at least a patient that will be well enough to count down to midnight! Instead I fear my floor will be hopping with drunk drivers.

I'll be working late due to a deadline so not much :guilty:

Hope to be home before DF goes to bed to watch movies but who knows at this point :wizard::wizard::wizard:

The current plan is to go to see the christmas lights at the zoo and then eat appetizers at home and enjoy the evening. Then in the morning maybe go to a movie. :)

Well, I for one really appreciate people like you. Last Christmas (2009) I was rushed to the ER with insane pains and vomiting. I was diagnosed with a failed gall bladder and had emergency surgery. I felt so horrible that people had to work on Christmas just for people like me who needed them. I was scared and I had this great nurse who made me feel better about the whole thing. I just kept apologizing and he kept making jokes about it.

I LOVE NYE. It is one of my favorite holidays. But, we usually don't do anything because of all of the drunks out and about. Once in a while we'll go to DL or DCA but that's about it. When we lived in Marina del Rey, we'd walk to the bars near us and watch the marina fireworks, now that was a lot of safe fun.

Staying home like DH and I normally do. I don't like being our there with the "crazies" that are out on NYE's in our town. We'll watch the ball drop with the kids and they will go to bed soon after. DH and I will just stay up and talk. It will be the least hectic night of our year.

Possibly having friends over this year. Food, games, movies. Repeat.

We haven't gone out for NYE since before we had kids, so at least over 15 years. Lost our party groove ages ago!

DH & I never ever go out on NYE.

Our first NYE married 30 years ago we were headed to Boston to a good friend's NYE party. As we traveled from our home through Chestnut Hill we witnessed a terrible car accident. It was a hit & run right in front of our eyes! I was able to get the license plate number off the car that was speeding and hit another car that went smashing into a fence and onto someone's front yard.
DH & I stopped and the people owning the home called the police. I gave them the license plate number of the speeding car and we left. The occupants of the hit car were going to be ok.

Several weeks later DH & I were contacted by Boston police to give them our account of exactly what we saw that night as the car was registered to the Convent of a nearby Catholic Church/School and I was informed by the police that it was a nun that was driving the car that evening.

So, we made the decision after that that we will stay in on NYE! And we do! :thumbsup2

We will go out for an early dinner then it's home to watch Bette Midler on HBO and probably asleep before midnight. I have champagne for New Years Day.

I will be home recovering from a hernia repair surgery that will be done tomorrow. I plan on watching all of the Harry Potter movies and do some reading on my Kindle,

We don't go out. We thought my husband would have to work, but he has it off. So we'll probably watch movies after the girls go to bed, drink a little champagne, and probably go to bed very close to midnight. Because we're going to the Winter Classic on NYD. (Please no rain, please no rain, please no rain! ;) )

Well the plan was to possibly go to dinner at Golden Corral, then sit home and do nothing...but we had a plan change!!

We going to our best friends house for a game night, dinner and drinks! Should be a GREAT time!

I love NYE but it's a pain to go out in the city unfortunately. It's impossible to catch a cab and I've had a bad experience with public trans on NYE where it took me about 3 hours for a 5 mile trip! My husband doesn't drink so any hotel/club/bar parties are out the window because it's silly for us to spend all that money so he can eat appetizers and drink coke!

So we are staying in and just having another couple over for a Wii and board game night.

My SIL and her family will be coming over for some snacks and games. Her hubby has to work until 8pm, so he won't be here until around 8:30.

We usually play the Wii and some board games and graze on food all night long!!!

Working actually! I work 6 PM to 1:30 AM that night... I'm saying a prayer that we're nice and busy too. That way there's something to do!!

I close NYD too, 4 PM to 11:30 PM... but I'm pretty sure we'll be dead and I'll be bored. BUT at least I'm off on the 2nd! :D
