I love New Years Eve! :goodvibes

I never really have plans. I'll probably just go out on my porch and blow a horn at midnight. :hyper:

What is everybody else doing?

I was waiting for this thread. Always enjoy reading it. We are having a dinner of appetizers, a movie and a fire, all while enjoying the tree a bit more. Probably won't make it to midnight.

We will be spending New Years Eve in the park at Disneyland Paris. We have a dinner reservation at the new Ratatouille themed restaurant, Bistro Chez Remy then we will stay for the live band and fireworks in Walt Disney Studios.

Wow! That sounds cool! Have fun!!! :cool1:

For the past 16 years, we have spent it with 2 couples we are close friends with. There are usually other people who come and go, but those couples are staples. Even though everyone has a house now, we still always host since we seem to be the most kid friendly. We have a bunch of snack items, beer, wine, sodas, etc. Champagne/Sparkling cider toast and party poppers (the kids love them) at midnight. We play games, watch silly shows on tv, etc. Nothing crazy or outrageous. The kids are usually all over the house. This year we will probably do a mini count down at 10 because my cousin and her family will be leaving around then (she works early the next day) and also for my youngest who will then go up to bed. Nothing horribly exciting, just good old fashioned kid friendly family/friend fun.

Tradition - Chinese food and Twilight Zone marathon.

(Except there's a Doctor Who marathon on BBC America. Tough decision!)

Probably staying home and watching movies. Probably won't even make it to midnight before falling asleep. We are old :lmao:

DH just returned at midnight from a trip across the country to spend Christmas with his grown DD and her family. He's exhausted, as I knew he would be so we presently don't have any plans. We may try to scramble something together later today or tomorrow once he's "recovered".

Not a thing for me. Probably will watch a movie or read then go to bed well before midnight. Pretty much my basic night in. :)

Watching movies in the basement and drinking a few drinks. That's about all my BF wants to do.

There's a big party downtown that includes a pretty decent country singer (from Canada) and fireworks, but the idea of the crowds and then the hustle to get back to my end of town just gives me a headache. And if the idea gives me a headache, imagine what the actual event would do! lol

Going out to a fancy dinner at 9:15pm, then we'll see where the night takes us....

We are heading to Deep Creek Lake in Wesern MD for NYE and the weekend. For dinner we are going to Dutch's at Silver Tree with DBF's parents. Then heading back to the house where I will most likely be the first one asleep. :lmao:

A movie then, CBC's 22 Minutes 'Till Midnight at 11:30, and last 1/2 hr of New Year's Eve with Carson Daly just before we *quietly usher in the New Year! :goodvibes

*quietly because our New Year's Day reunion dinner (Dh's family) follows. It's a must to get as much rest as possible to enable me to avoid 1 of Dh's 4 brothers (sings Beatle's tunes to the displeasure of person in his presence). At least in the past the reunion because it is held at a hall with just under 100 family members there (3 Mos. - 90 yrs young); I've been able to avoid him. Albiet, this year will be more challenging as I'm nursing a knee ailment (Baker's Cyst).. sigh.

Maybe, I'll take my cane along. :rolleyes1

Working til 7am & SO has to work at 4am.

I am thinking he will be asleep before I leave & gone when I get home.

We're not big on New Year's celebrations. I actually hate going out on New Year's Eve, and would much rather spend a quiet evening at home. We'll enjoy Chinese take-out, play a few card games and reflect on the year that was and the year to come.:)

Today is our 36th wedding anniversary, so my husband and I are going out to dinner tonight to celebrate, and maybe hit the mall.:thumbsup2

We don't go out on NYE. Too many drunks on the roads.

DH is going ice-fishing during the day and for the evening, we'll have appetizers and drinks and be in bed by 10:30 or 11pm.
