For those of you who will be there on May 5, what are your plans for that day? We will be there 4/30 to 5/7 (didn't know about the 5/5 kick-off).
I'm thinking a waterpark and DD or DQ in the evening.

We are arriving that day -- flying in from New Jersey. I can't wait. We haven't been to Disney for a couple years so I'm definitely ready to go back. I already have my park tickets and I think we will head to MGM Studios on our first day.

We will be at VWL but I think we will avoid the parks that day and go shopping. Maybe we will boat over to MK in the evening for a stroll about but I don't think it will be a good day to tour the parks with a 2 year old. I reckon it could be MOBBED!!

Interested to hear what others think.

We're doing Sea World that day, and then the Hoop Dee Doo Revue that night. This will be the first time we ever ventured out of the World during one of our visits. Kinda looking forward to something different/new.

Just curious, what will actually occur on the 5th? It seems like most of the new attractions are open or will have opened before that date. What kind of things will be going on the 5th that would make it so crazy? Is it just the fact the press will be there?

Soarin' and Lights, Action, Motorcar (I think that's what it's called anyway) officially open on May 5th. So once Disney is finished with their soft openings, these attractions will be closed until May 5th. At least that's my understanding.

On May 5th, we're going to Animal Kingdom in the morning and then California Grill for dinner and the 8:00 Cirque show. I think May 4th is going to be just as bad with Epcot closing early at 3:00. At least we know about the possible crowds now, we have time to prepare ourselves. :teeth:

We have passes for the California Beach Bash and grand opening of 'Soarin' at EPCOT. It's supposed to last from 7pm to 10:30pm. We might stay for just part of it and then head over to MK.

Our friends and us are planning on being at MK on the 5th and have lunch plans for Liberty Tree at noonish. We also plan to be at AK for Lucky's official kickoff. Also will be at the Stunt Show on May 4th for STunt show kickoff and then lunch at 50s PT at noonish. We don't plan to miss a minute of it.

We'll be in town from April 28 to May 7. On May 5th, we plan on doing a water park, then possibly braving the evening crowds to see Spectro at MK.

That's a great idea! I'm so busy trying to fit in all the Disney stuff, I didn't even consider going elsewhere. We wanted to go there last June, but it was sooo hot and I was sick, so we ended up returning the tickets. I would love to go, but doubt if DD & DH are willing to give anything up in order to squeeze it in!!

Epcot is closing at 3 pm on Thursday, May 5.

We are going to Epcot first thing in the morning and will stay until the early afternoon (as would be our plans even if it wasn't closing early for the press event).

We planned it that way thinking that b/c it closed early no one would go - I notice that we are the only ones on this thread doing that so maybe it worked :flower:

My DH and kids are camping at FW that weekend. I'll be at the Contemporary. Epcot is my favorite, so I'll probably go there until they close. If the crowds are too bad I'll just have to spend more time poolside! :smooth:

We're going May 7-12 with 6yr old girl, 4yr old boy and 20 month old! Whats the cali Beach Bash and can you tell me about Soarin? Would these ages be into any of the new stuff you guys are talking about?

I'll be at MK all day on 5-5-05, possibly hop over to one of the resorts if it gets too crowded. :) Still haven't figured out what I'm doing the day before. :)

We are having breakfast at the Crystal Palace at 8:00, then I think we'll probably head over to MGM or we'll gauge the crowds and see how it looks and maybe stay. We're doing the extra hours on Wednesday so if it's too crowded it's no big deal. We're staying for 10 days anyway so we'll have plenty of time for everything.
The countdown continues :hourglass , :cool1:
Been There, Done That, Going Back, YAHOOOOO!!!!! :thewave:
