The last time I was there was when POR was Dixie Landings, and I was too young to appreciate food. Staying at POR this fall and thinking it would be a nice "first meal" with the whole family. So, how is Boatwright's these days?

We've eaten there a couple of times in the past year and really enjoyed it. ADRs seem to be a must, as it always looked busy when we would walk by, and for both our meals we weren't seated until 15-20 minutes past our ADR time even though we arrived early. But the service was very friendly and reasonably efficient. And we really enjoyed the food more than we thought we might given that we often travel to New Orleans. The food certainly doesn't reach the quality of the best of that city, but it's generally well prepared and tasty. We especially enjoyed the etouffee, shrimp and grits, and the crawfish mac and cheese. We don't have kids, but those around us seemed to be enjoying their meals.

I've always enjoyed the jambalaya and it was easy to eat without a reservation.

I think it's just fine if you are staying at either of the PO resorts. But it probably isn't worth a special trip if you're staying elsewhere.

We did our first meal in 2014 there, stayed at POR.
We loved it! It was the first time we flew in and didn't arrive to hotel until after 5pm. With young kids who can't hang past 8/9 we decided to stay in for the night.
I still talk about the food.
