What are your opinions of the Crystal Palace for dinner?

Is the breakfast cheaper than if you go at lunchtime?

We were thinking about having as late a breakfast as we could (so we wouldn't have to buy a lunch)at Crystal palace but if its more expensive than lunch time prices we might as well just book for lunch instead. Any one know the answer?:confused3

the food for all ages is very very good......we went last month and even my hubby loved it. They had a nice macaroni and cheese and chicken fingers for the youngsters with young tastes but they can have anything on the adult buffet too.....the salmon and prime rib was pretty darn good too......I think you will have a great time and the characters are warm and friendly too..

I'll be the voice of decern.

I went there this past January & June for Dinner, this October for Breakfast. I was very umimpressed at all accounts.

The prime rib & salad & cinnimon rice were very good, but the rest of the items left a lot to be desired. The flavors weren't there or they just tasted bad. I felt I wasn't getting my money's worth with the food I was getting.

I tried breakfast to see if maybe just the dinner is bad. Nope. Despite being there at opening, the waffles & pancakes were cold and tasted like they had been under the heating lamp for a long while. The puffed french toast was flavorless to me as well.

Characters also had a habit of skipping my table despite being there when they came around. I guess b/c I was either solo or with my fiance they didn't think I would care but I did.

We are eating at the Crystal Palace on our last night of our upcoming Christmas trip and I am now having second thoughts. We do have a 3 year old and a 8 month old, so it will be fun for them with the Winnie the Pooh cahracters, but what about the food? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Did we make a big mistake for our last night?

Dinner at CP is soooooo good. I love the buffet there (especially the mashed potatoes- they are to DIE for). There is something for everyone. And the kids' section is good too. Plus it is a lot of fun. There is a celebration every so often where the characters march around the resturant, and kids (and even adults) can join in. I eat there every trip (at least once).

we/ve never had dinner there but for the poster who asked about lunch.

It is wonderful. We usually just eat a snack for bfast and get the first lucnh seating when we go. The mashed potatoes are delish and the spoon bread..yumm.

Our picky eater gets very satisfied there.

Breakfast is wonerful also. I can't go to WDW without a meal at CP. It's our favorite

Check out the menus on AllEars they have all the menus and prices listed!!

We loved it!

I made up a plate from the salad bar of Mexican chicken salad w/black beans and romaine salad w/blue cheese crumbles. I then got some of the broccoli from the hot food area.

I had though I might go back for more hot food later, but the salads were so good I had a second helping of those instead.

At first, I was just going to have a chocolate chip cookie for dessert, but I wound up having two because they were yummy.

My dd had chicken nuggets and I think maybe some fresh strawberries for dinner. She had soft serve chocolate ice cream for dessert.

Good times!!! Love the characters, the atmosphere, and the food.

I love it!
I wish there's a non character version of that buffet... :)

We had dinner at CP in May 2006 and will be going there for breakfast on our upcoming trip (have to try that puffed french toast). We enjoyed the dinner. I really preferred the cold selections - the salads were quite good esp the Mediterranean pasta salad. DH really enjoyed the hot selections but esp the mushroom and asiago pasta. DS#1 was 2 at the time and he ate the hugest plate of the mac-n-cheese I have ever seen. We really liked seeing the Pooh and Friends characters - I love Eeyore and DS was into Tigger.

We do this fairly often and it works great - last time we took a late (10:20, i think?) breakfast ADR and used it as a 'brunch' on the first MK day. The place was not full like it can be at those pre-rope times, and we got LOTS of character time. Eeyore drew me a picture of butterflies and hearts in my book cause I told him he was my favorite... :rotfl:

It is cheaper at breakfast, but be aware that when they say 'breakfast' they mean it - eggs, sausage, fruit, waffles... but nothing resembling lunch. The food is good but I am partial (this is an every-trip restaurant for us). It works well on most trips (most times we are non-DDP) and we get full and can go all day until it's time for a 5-6pm dinner (or Grand Tea, but that's another thread... :thumbsup2: )

We like dinner at CP! Our annual tradition is for about 20 of us (DH's family) to eat there before we go to the MVMCP! Can't wait! 27 more days .......

We've only eaten there once, and I was very happy with the food. The kids loved the characters, too.

They had some sort of broccoli dish that was outstanding. When I asked for the recipe they were amazed, but didn't have one for us. I guess it was just some spices they threw onto it, but it was the best broccoli that I have ever had!

Our DD was 3 when we ate there for dinner, and we all enjoyed it. The food was fine, and the characters were great. They took the children around the restaurant in a parade singing and clapping. So cute. I think you and your family will really enjoy it.
