Thought this be a fun thread.

What are the oldest things you can remember from going to disney?

The castle cake at magic kingdom i am not sure how old i was (i am 17 now)

Also eating at san angel when i was maybe five but i remember having a table by the water and it was taking FOREVER for me to actually get to ride that boat thing.

Walking into the Poly that first night in 1975 (we were staying offsite at a Ramada Inn) and saying to myself- "WOW".
Then going right to dinner at Papeete Bay and seeing the castle in the distance. We never stayed offsite again and from then on, we were "hooked".

I remember getting lost when I was four years old.

We were in Liberty Square getting pictures taken by the stocks. My parents and two sisters left, but I was still there playing. I looked up, and there was no family to be found.

I ran up to the first woman I found, and told her I was lost. I saw my sister looking for me a few minutes later.

Trying to figure out the most productive ways to use my E, D, and C tickets! This was around 1976. I was dating a guy stationed at Eglin AFB at the time and he had a bunch of extra E-tickets that he got from some of his buddies. We felt as if we were "rolling in it" to a few extra Es! LOL.

In Magic Kingdom, sipping Florida orange juice out of a cute plastic orange, complete with straw, on my first trip when I was 10 years old, April 1976.:goodvibes

Disneyland memory....but my dad was getting us all excited about the Matterhorn, using the billboards along the way to scare the heck outta us. The billboards were all black with glowing red eyes that said "What has gotten into the Matterhorn?" We get to the park and my dad was headed to the Matterhorn and I screamed and wrapped my arms and legs around a pole and refused to go. Yeah, it's my favorite Disney ride now :goodvibes

This is from DL: being very excited about all the "new" rides: Matterhorn, Monorail, and the Submarine! That was a few years ago (1959). :rotfl:

I have a pretty vivid memory of my first Disney holiday when I was four (so about 1992). We won it, so we were in an offsite hotel right across from Bob Evans where we ate almost every day (since we were on a budget!). But back in those days we were just so glad to have a pool we could swim in whenever we liked!

We have some video which I watched for the first time in ages a couple of months ago, so now the video and real memories get mixed up! I remember meeting Barbie at MGM and Ken too, from their pink Limo. I remember just being excited all the time! I remember the jumping fountains at Epcot, and that the water fountain next to it spoke to you when you drank the water saying things like 'help me outta here!'.

1973 as an 8 year old driving the cars at the Tomorrowland Speedway once I was heading out a cast membor gave me an official WDW drivers license, I wish I still had that thing. Rocketship to the Moon was pretty awsome back then also.:wizard:

Disneyland, 1971- I was 5:

*My cousin Angie and I were scared on PotC. We though the cannonballs were going to hit our boat, so we screamed through the whole "attack on the fort" scene.

*Riding real, live burros on the Rainbow Cavern attraction (I think that's the name of it). I was in a little dress, and the burro's saddle/blanket was scratchy on my legs.

*LOVED IASW!! I think I conned my mom into riding 4 or 5 times over the 2 days we spent at DL. Same with the Carousel.

* My brother and dad loved the Matterhorn and rode it several times. I was too little (and/or too scared) to ride, so my mom and I saw it from another ride (a train? a boat? Can't remember).

We used to spend 2 weeks in Florida every summer to visit my grandparents. I remember driving to Disney World to see the little gift shop/visitors center that was the ONLY THING OPEN! I was about 4 yrs old - it must have been the summer before WDW opened in Orlando - and you could go to this little building and see what was being planned. I can distinctly remember the beautifully manicured lawn around this little shop and the glass doors. (I also remember thinking "that's it???")

We went to WDW the next summer when it opened - and I mainly remember the monorail ride, the sculpted shrubs shaped like characters and the little juices you could buy in the containers shaped like the fruit!

Disneyland: 1976, I was 4 years old.
Standing in the elevator of the Haunted Mansion, looking up at all the legs around me, then it got dark, and everybody screamed.
Is this Haunted room actually stretching.. or is it your imagination?
That scared me, my big bother picked me up!

Eating ice cream in Fantasyland, near a Pirate ship, or something..
Sitting on my brother's shoulders, while he and the rest of my family watched the Monkees perform on the 4 of July, 1976...

Going to the preview center and waiting for the day when we could visit the park for real. We visited the park for the first time just a few days after it opened and I have been hooked ever since. Now we take our Grandson on annual trips.

I remember leading the afternoon parade during the Magic Music days of Summer in I think, 1993. I was in 6th grade and went with the high school marching band-my brother played the trumpet and my mom was a chaperon, so I got to go too! I had to follow some guy through the huge crowds to know which way to turn and I was so scared I would miss a turn and go into a dead end and mess up the parade in front of everyone. :lmao: It was great though and I will never forget it! :goodvibes

I've got several, but I honestly can't remember which is the oldest simply because after a certain amount of time the years start to blend together a bit.

I remember looking forward to and stopping at the Disney Welcome Center along 75 on the drive down to WDW...and sometimes even on the way back.

I Remember the 15th Anniversary and stopping by the prize counter just inside Epcot's gates to claim our prize.

I remember watching the MSEP while wearing one of those clear-green plastic sunvisors w/ the 9volt battery that powered the flashing LED lights.

I remember waiting in line to ride the new boat ride at the Norway pavilion.

I remember going to a character breakfast "on the big boat" at the Marketplace.

And I Vividly remember to this day getting to ride the parking lot from from the front of the Magic Kingdom back to the TTC after the park closed. (and getting to ride under the water bridge.)

Sadly, the only 2 "old" memories I can actually put any sort of date's too would be the 15th anniversary celebration and the looking forward to riding the new Norway boat ride...

1978, I was 5...

I clearly remember being scared to death that if we kept letting Dumbo fly higher, that he would break off of the ride. I kept screaming at my dad to lower us back down!!

I still don't get on Dumbo unless I have to... :sad2:

This is from my first trip to WDW circa 1984. I don't remember much, but I remember being really really REALLY tired afterward.

June 19, 2006...the first time I saw Magic Kingdom. It was my honeymoon and I was 29. (Had never been able to go before that.)

I broke down and cried. It was truly worth the wait. I still cry every time I see it.

In 1975, I was 4 years old. My family lived in Ocala and we took a day trip to WDW. I thought the monorail going through the Contemporary was the coolest thing!

And, during the parade, Alice came out of the parade to where I was sitting on the curb watching and handed me a (what seemed to me) HUGE bouquet of balloons. That made me feel so special! :flower3: I can trace my love of Disney to that very moment. :goodvibes

1984... I was 19... we walked through the entrance into Magic Kingdom... there was so much color and the smells were wonderful. To me, it was liking walking into a rainbow!!!!! :goodvibes
