Pretty much the same as my Christmas plans. Home with loved one.

Pretty low key with the family...but I decided that New Year's Eve 2011 deserved a menu of 11 items (including drinks)!

And to honor Pantone's Color of the Year for 2011 (Honeysuckle - which is a kind of pink), I'm unveiling my 2011 cocktail creation: the Honeysuckle Sparkler!

Not quite sure on the break down yet, but I'm working with champagne, chambord, pink lemonade & blackberries. I'm sure the trials will be the best part.

Going super low key this year. I'm not big on New Years in general but this year I'm really not motivated. I'm not sorry to see 2010 go. It's been a year of extreme highs and lows. Very stressful. Anyway, I've been home sick all week but I'm finally starting to feel better so it looks like DH and I are going to have Chinese food with a friend and after that I'm not sure...either chill at home or maybe go to the movies. I'd love to see Black Swan.

For once we actually have plans. My cousin just moved into her first home and invited us over for some games and taco's! Party till the parents are sleepy!lol

We're staying home this year. Probably will play Disney Scene It (this seems to be a tradition for our family on NYE )and some Wii games, eat lots of junk and some drinks for me and DH

There are a few cute things happening just over the border in PA.
Bethlehem PA is the home of Peeps - a fave of the Podcast Team.
On New Years Eve, they have a "Peep Drop" :

In Easton, PA, the home of Crayola Crayons, they're having a crayon drop.

It's a New Years Eve party geared towards kids. I thought that was cute.


So if any of you are in the western NJ/eastern PA area, you might be interested in these activities!

While I would love to go to Bethlehem PA for their New Years Eve celebration, including fireworks,
that would require staying up and out in the cold till MIDNIGHT!
So, instead, we'll probably stay home, play some Epic Mickey, watch the ball drop and go to bed.

I'm going to a friend's house to do some cooking, then seeing Harry Potter in theaters for the third time, and then coming back to see the ball drop on ABC.

Going out for a little while, and then home before the clock strikes midnight. At midnight of course we'll enjoy our traditional meal of lentils. Of course throughout the evening we'll be wearing our red underwear! I'm not superstitious as a rule, but these New Year's traditions are hard to break.

Does anyone else wonder what happened to 2010? This year seemed to FLY by in a blink.

I will do what I do every year for New Years, spend the evening at my Aunt's house. We get new years hats and poppers, add in food and drink and watch the ball drop. Exciting! I let the kids stay up "all night", meaning whenever they fall asleep.
