I keep trying to reorganize my tote bag to hold all my stuff and still it weighs too much and is too crammed! I don't want to by a bigger bag because I hope this fall to create a space!
So....
What is the must have to go to crops?

Hi Sondra!!
I have only had to cart my stuff out of the house a couple of times-I usually plan in advance what pages I want to work on/complete and then take the papers/photos/embellishements/pens I want to use for those layouts. Other must haves are my fiskers 12 inch paper trimmer, sharp scissors, adhesives, craft knife and self healing matt. That is pretty much it! I don't own any punches-when I need punches or die cuts I go to my lss and for 2.00 per hour I can use all of there punches and the die cutting machine-they have tons! When I go there I take a list of what things I want and need to punch and cut that way I don't forget anything-can get overwhelming when your faces with a couple hundred choices!!
Anyways hope this helps-

Wow, that's a great deal for $2/hr. Does anyone else have that kind of set-up at their local stores? I would love it, because I hate to spend money on the punches when I don't think I'll really use them all that much after a project.

At my LSS it is a free service you just have to buy the paper from her! I found that out on my last visit and had a ball cutting out tons of letters and stuff!

I don't go to crops, but my must-haves (in addition to what grover posted) are a corner rounder, white plastic eraser, Photo Saver cloth, adhesive pick-up, Magic Matter, and bent tweezers. I find that I use these things over and over every time I scrap. :)

This was a very timely post for me because I am getting ready to go to my first crop next week. I am a 100% self-taught scrapper and I'm kinda nervous about showing 'real' scrappers my work. I have several friends that scrap casually but I haven't ever shown my pages to the real pros and I'm just wondering how I'm going to measure up in their eyes. I have this thing of wanting lots of pics on a page and I'm worried everyone will think my pages are too 'busy'. Sometimes I think that myself.

Keli, just because you're self-taught, doesn't mean you're not a "real" scrapper! Anyone who scraps is a real scrapper! And your pages don't have to measure up in anyone's eyes but your own. As long as what you do makes you happy and brings you pleasure, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Don't feel intimidated, just go and enjoy! :D

Spinning,

I agree, the Jr. bag holds quite a bit of stuff but that guy gets heavy.

For portability. I would pack 12" friskers cutter, scissors, all my adhesives, and a few pens. I kept my about to be scrapped pages together in a project envelope. If I needed a certain templet or tool for a certain layout I attached a sticky note to the outside of the project envelope. Then all I had to do is pull it out and pack those tools. I also have a small photo carrier that holds about 7 pages of pictures that go with me when I am shopping. If you decide not to pack your brads and eyelet stuff and find you want to add them to your layout,( a tip I learned at a class), lightly write on the back of your page what you intend to add, you won't forget your idea once you get back to it.

I now have the XXL for its rolling ability and at this point, most everything I own can fit into it.

Hope some of these ideas have been helpful.
