What Are Your Favorite WDW Hotels?!

Contemporary Resort - great resort if most of your time is spent at MK as you can walk to the park. Has the some of the largest rooms on Disney property. Great views of the MK and fireworks from theme park view rooms in the tower. ....and then there's the great Mary Blair mural in the Grand Canyon Concourse.

Beach Club - Can walk to Epcot or Studios, lots of restaurant choices around Crescent Lake, nice and relaxing New England seaside theme, and the best pool on Disney Property.

Port Orleans French Quarter - Smallest of the moderate resorts, has a quaint New Orleans theme, very relaxing gardens and fountains between the buildings.

I hope you and your family have the trip next year!!! :)

I wrote this same thing on another post:

I have stayed at Disney's Beach Club Villas Resort, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney's Boardwalk Inn Resort. I loved all my trips and all three hotels, but my overall favorite was The Beach Club Villas Resort.

- Beach Club was my first Disney trip ever with my family, so it will always be the most sentimental hotel to me.
- The theme of the Beach Club (and Yacht Club) are New England/Cape Cod Style - being from Boston I can appreciate that.
-The Beach/Yacht Club's pool is the BEST thing ever - the ship slide, the lazy river and the sand on the bottom was an amazing experience.
- The location - set between Epcot and Hollywood Studios is VERY convenient - less buses are a-okay with me.
- Also, the atmosphere of Crescent Lake with Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk, Swan and Dolphin is my favorite area of all of Disney World. It's exciting but also serene at the same time.
- I love pastel colors, so Beach Club's color palette - baby blue, mint green and white looks so pretty and inviting!

For hotels, I personally love the looks of: Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk, Caribbean Beach, Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside, Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge and Saratoga Springs.

In all honesty, you probably can't go wrong at any WDW hotel!

We are AKL and Gran Destino people now that we are traveling adult only. We don't care about being within a 5 minute walking distance because we Uber everywhere in 5 minutes anyway.
There are just far too many factors involved with individual family needs and what people prioritize to single in on one resort that's best for everyone.

BC was our favorite for years, still is for walkability to Epcot and being on the boardwalk, but we have done a split stay with BC and Four Seasons the last several times, and Four Seasons is a huge step up from any Disney resort in terms of room size/quality and amenities, especially the phenomenal pool complex. You have several quiet pool areas, an adults only pool, a lazy river, a giant waterslide, a "dive in" infinity pool where they show movies on a big screen, hot tubs, and best of all, poolside service that provides umbrellas, water, little snacks throughout the day, sunblock, and full service food and drink from the outdoor bar and grill (which you can also walk up to/sit down in in your swim suit and cover-up). You also have a climbing wall, tennis, basketball, golf (only thing that costs extra), a video game hut, and full use of the spa facilities whether or not you book a treatment. Food and drink options are varied and excellent, especially their restaurant Capa on the 17th floor which provides multiple large terraces for viewing all park fireworks. I just booked a split stay for August and I paid low $400s for the BC room and mid-$500s for the FS room (which is a bargain).

Poly! I love being able to walk to the Epcot monorail. And obviously take the MK monorail right from its lobby. The theming is sooo relaxing especially at night it's like they cut out all the blue light. If money was no object I'd stay there again and again! I don't love its main pool (Beach Club has it beat obviously) but the theming wins hands down for me. So transporting!!!

I am sure it’s much, much nicer than any Disney resort; at Disney we’re paying for the convenience of transportation and/or walking to a park, not exactly for a truly “deluxe” resort. I’d be open to looking into there if DH joins me again ever! I even think the Swan and Dolphin are often much nicer than the BW, BC, and YC (at a lower price). Of course not FS but definitely better. Do you drive or use taxis/Uber? I normally never drive at Disney (like to enjoy my adult beverages), except the times that we’ve stayed at Marriott timeshares on II getaways (which were so cheap and nice to have a full villa to spread out with the kids).

Yes, we take Uber/Lyft, and the Four Seasons runs buses/vans to and from each of the four parks - every 15 minutes to MK, every 30-60 minutes for the other parks, which we also take.

Although this is not necessarily a reply, I am torn between villas as we are going to wdw first week of Dec. 2020 with our family so looking at 2 bedroom villas. We do have three nights off property and thought we would tag a wdw villa stay front and end of vacation. Our dilemma is we can only afford two wdw stays as expensive vacation already. Going this year as many celebrations in our family and wish to combine Christmas with those celebrations. We need to decide between Kidani Village (only standard view was available), Copper Creek Villas, and Beach Club Villas. Considered Boulder Creek too, but would have to act fast as that one is not booked. We have heard best decor at Christmas are Kidani/AKL family of accommodations, The Wilderness Lodge family of accommodations, and GF. We have heard little regarding Beach Club Villas but do like the location for sure. Any thoughts? How would you rank them? Thank you for any help.

If money was no object I'd stay at the Boardwalk and Poly all the time. But I'm cheap, so I stay at Pop and we love it there, too.

You MUST stay at a SKYLINER RESORT!!!! :)

I am a Skyliner Resort "purist"(Disney Riviera Resort/Caribbean Beach Resort/Art of Animation/Pop Century only),but some Guests consider the Crescent Lake Resorts to be "Skyliner Resorts" as well.

Disney Skyliner is THAT awesome!

Skyliner and Rise of the Resistance are a ONE TWO PUNCH to remind everybody once again why Walt Disney World is the most amazing place on Earth!

And Happy Way-Early 21st Birthday wishes-that's a BIG,FUN one!:)

Just an FYI - While WEDWDW found the Skyliner to be awesome - made me quesy as all get out on a not so windy day. So if any of your party is prone to motion sickness - it might not be your best bet to pick a Skyliner resort. I also love OKW - but those stairs can be tough for some and elevators are not a bookable guarantee.

This shows how it all is just so subjective. We wouldn't stay at Pop just because they run buses less frequent to push you on the skyliner. My son (adult) is claustrophobic and not a fan of heights. Let the skyliner stop for even 2 min. and we would have problems, let it sway a bit and problems. So, for us, the skyliner is a big no.

For deluxe Animal Kingdom Lodge is my favorite. I like waking up to see the animals. Plus it has some really great table service restaurants.

For moderates Port Orleans French Quarter. The way it is laid out, it is a short walk to anywhere at the hotel, no matter room location. All of the other resorts are spread out so it can quite a hike depending on room location. The other great thing about the French Quarter is the boat to Disney Springs. We always go to Disney Springs for shopping and a meal.

If you like BC/ YC, I would try the Riviera or Grand Floridian. They have a similar upscale feel with good transportation options. Animal Kingdom Lodge is also very unique if you aren't as worried about transportation options.

OP, I think an interesting thing you might question is why have you always stayed at the YC/BC? Is it the theme or is there a family member who says this is it? If you have travelled in this group over the years planning should be a non-issue, unless there is a factor behind why the same resort and now you are wanting change

For us budget, theme, location and park/dining plans works into our choice, so we remain fluid in what works for us. Our greatest memories/experiences, in order, are PR, BC, GF and AKL

- GF – pricing, special dining, Afternoon Tea/Mad Matter Tea Party, Character Meal, transportation options, midday break, monorail, Gingerbread House-Christmas, MK Events
