We're going to WDW over Spring Break again this year (it will be our third time going at this time of year and we know it is CROWDED). Although I am thrilled about going to WDW of course I'm not thrilled about standing in all the long lines. We're spoiled since we have been at times when there are very short lines or no lines at all. I should mention that these would be things to do between waiting on fast passes to be ready.

We like to sit in the gardens of Britian in Epcot. There are benches and the vegetation is so lush, especially in the spring.

So, what's you favorite thing/idea to do at WDW that does not require standing in a line or standing in a very short one?

Oh wow, so many...

-Off Kilter in Canada
-British Invasion in UK
-The Rose and Crown Pub (the best pub anywhere) :drinking1
-Shopping at Mouse Gear
-The Walt Disney Railroad (I have never seen a line for that, just a wait for the train to arrive)
-TTA (again, never seen a line for that either)
-Any movie in EPCOT, but especially O Canada
-American Adventure
-Festival of the Lion King
-Watching the drummers in Africa
-El Rio Del Tiempo (again, never seen a line)
-Mariachi Cobra
-Walt Disney, One Man's Dream ( you can skip the film if you don;t want to wait but the museum is amazing)

Plastic Works at Epcot. You race a robot you design against other teams and at the end you get to build your own plastic robot to take home.

In Magic Kingdom-Hall of Presidents, Carousel of Progress, TTA, Tiki Birds, Pirates. Epcot-Universe of Energy, Living Sea, Innoventions, HISTA, Imagination, Rio del Tiempo, 360 Movies, American Adventure, Musical Fountain. Disney Studio-Walt Disney Story, Animation. Watching Live Entertainment in any of the Parks, rest with a drink!

Watching the fireworks and electrical boat parade from the Poly in a beach chair with my toes in the sand and a drink in my hand. :cool2:

Epcot: Honey I Shrunk the Audience, walking around World Showcase
Magic Kingdom: Philharmagic, It's a Small World, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Country Bear Jamboree, Big Thunder Mountain
MGM: WWTBAM
Animal Kingdom: walking around the various exhibits

For Philharmagic and the rides in Magic Kingdom, we have experienced no waits or very short waits when we went the week after 4th of July. An hour or two before Magic Kingdom closed, we must have went on Big Thunder 7 or 8 times. I guess you just have to be there at the right time when ride lines are short.

I hurt my ankle on our trip, and spent an afternoon icing it at Muddy Rivers (poolside bar at POR). It was refreshing to take that pause during our vacation and to relax there. There was plenty of shade, good drinks, and interesting company. I thought it would be a drag to have to ice my ankle, but that time spent soaking in the atmosphere of the poolside was one of the highlights of my vacation.

I also love to poke around the World Showcase and Animal Kingdom. I could do that all day!

The "People Mover" never has a line, and it's a good place to rest a little.

Tom Sawyer's Island is a nice resting spot, too. You might have to wait in line to get on the raft, though once you are there you can grab an ice cream and sit in a rocking chair for a while.

The poolside bar at POR.......I'll have to try that!

My favorite thing that did not require standing in lines in the summer heat.... was the World Showcase...MEXICO in particular.
You go inside (where the resturant & ride are) & its like a cool dark oasis! The music, shopping, & relaxing boat ride was SO cool!

We also loved meandering through the shops on Main street in MK!

I love going in there to get out of the heat. Your right about it being dark and cool. Just thinking about it makes me smile. There are just so many things I love about WDW. Can't wait to get back. I love it so much, I even love just walking through the crowds!

Thanks to everyone for the great ideas so far!

I like to take time everyday to sit, and strike up a conversation with somebody, wheather it's a CM or another guest. We'll talk about anything and everything. I've meet people from all over the world, and even seen some of my friends from back home. One time at DLP, we ran into a classmate of our DD's. Now that was weird. People at Disney tend to be more friendly and talkative. Maybe because they are on vacation!!??

Grab an Ice cream or popcorn (love that smell!) grab a bench and people watch! You can imagine what they are doing, thinking, and where they are going! It can be quite fun!

Me and my hubby dont have kids, so we dont do alot of the "kiddie" rides but we do ride many of them, but when it is packed , we usually just grab a bench, a snack and cool our heels and people watch and enjoy the scenery. Im also a photo buff, so we walk around and i find things unusual or neat to take pics off, or find different ways to take pics of the castle. It is soooooooo much fun.

In Studios, we love the Hollywood Public Works streetmosphere actors...they are hysterical and play on the audience...

At Epcot, we love the Jammitors (those trash can drummers) outside of Mission: Space.

At MK, we love the Dapper Dans (barbershop quartet on Main Street), the pianist outside of Casey's (great music while either eating a hot dog or waiting for Spectomagic), Shrunken Ned's boats outside of the Jungle Cruise, the Shootin' Gallery in Frontierland, the Hoe Down in Frontierland...

At AK, Devine....

I thought of another one. I could happily spend a day just floating around the lazy river at BB or TL. :goodvibes

I went on a "just girls" trip last October and we went to the Grand Floridian for the tea. It was real relaxing and the food was good. Just take the monorail from the MK or Epcot. The Grand Floridian lobby is beautiful and they had a piano player playing. It was a nice break from walking around all morning.

Ditto! I like to grab a dole whip (they are SO yummy) and walk back to Main Street, sit on the curb and watch the people coming in. I just love to see newbies and their expressions (you can tell a newbie a MILE away with the map in hand, eyes agape, and kids tugging them to walk/run faster). :lmao:
