What are your favorite shoes to wear in the parks?

I always use to wear my broken-in Reebok DMX (air soles) tennis shoes until I decided on a rainy day to wear my Crocs. Never put my tennis shoes on again - only wear Crocs. Just be careful if they get too worn, they will become slippery on the bottom when it rains. Gotta have some tread on them for rainy days.

I wear my Chaco hiking sandals with the diamond stealth sole. The reason I mention the sole is because these are their best hiking sandals and offer the most foot support.

They are similar to Tevas but far far more comfortable. I didn't think I could wear them to walk around Epcot in the middle of the summer, but they worked magnificently. I never wore my sneakers at all and have stopped bringing them unless I know it will be too chilly to wear the Chaco's at night.

We're a CROC family here. And to be really attractive - CROCS with SOCKS!

We swear by Nothinz.... similar to Crocs, but made by a different company (however not cheap knock offs). They're a little softer than the Croc material, which we find makes them a bit cushier.

They're the only shoes that save my leg/back with the miles of walking (tried everything - including ridiculously expensive "walking shoes")

If we're at WDW for a couple of weeks or so, we bring more than one pair and switch off.

But even with Croc-type shoes, still be sure to break them in well ahead of time beforehand. Worst thing you can possibly do is bring brand new shoes to WDW.

My first 4 pairs of "crocs-like" shoes were Nothinz. And yes, they are cushier. Alas, no one sells them locally, and after the third time ordering them on-line & getting the wrong size, I gave up and went to crocs. You are correct in saying they are not crocs knock-off's. Unfortunately for Nothinz, they are only sold by independent vendors who travel around county or state fairs, or on-line. They need to get them in stores, cause they are comfier & hold up longer than crocs.

No matter how you place them, they're UGLY!! But, I have converted two ASM's and one head cashier at THD. Now, there are 4 of us with ugly-feet at THD Store 0248!!

These are actually reminiscent of the Earth Shoes of the 70's & 80's. The tread is also designed for those who work in restaurants. No slipping with these babies!!

AND.......no animals (otters in particular) were harmed in the manufacturing process....... DONNIE!!!!

Actually I showed them to DH and he wants a pair!! He's on his feet most of the day and.... let's just say he's not big on style.

I tried to wear crocs but I am an inbetween size I wear a 6 normal but the 6 crocs are to big for me and the 5 are to small. So I wear Merrells sandels, or my Clarks they are both so comfortable to walk ing.

I have always inthe past wore tennis shoes, bust last year I ended up wearing my rainbows (flip flops) one day and ended up wearing the rest of the time I was there because they are so comfortable to me. That is usually all I wear in the summer anyway because we leave at the beach in N.C. Only prob. is when they get wet the inside can get a little slick. So I will also take my pink maryjane crocs that i love.

Long time ago I used to have a pair of SAS work shoes that were similar to those ugly croc work shoes except they were navy. They were the least attractive shoe I'd ever worn in my life at that time- but they sure were comfortable and could grip the floor even if there was grease on the tiled floor! LOL

I just got a pair of Land's End trekker sandals for our upcoming trip. I've worn fake crocs to our local amusement park for the day, but when they get wet, it was like trying to walk on ice. These should be good since they're alot like Tevas but a lot cheaper. I went to a Sears store that carries Land's End to try on what they had in stock, then went on-line to order- more selection that way. They have sandals and closed toe shoes that are kind of a cross between sandals and tennies. I'm planning on breaking them in during the next 3 weeks before we go, IF IT EVER GETS ABOVE 50 degrees UP HERE !!!

The reason they were so slippery is that they were fake crocs. Real crocs won't be slippery unless they are WORN on the bottom- if they are worn on the bottom then look out buddy!

true... so true. Never wear old crocs where the bottom is worn out on wet floor. I can attest at how it does NOT feel good to have your feet go flying out from under you and land on your hiney on a concrete patio (yep- worn out flipflops and walked out there after the patio was soaked because of the rain at the time. Feet in air- BIP's hiney on concrete- not a pretty sight! It happened more than once- but the rest of the times I caught myself on the foosball table before hiney touched concrete LOL) My crocs were still SO comfy but I had to get a new pair because they got so slippery on anything wet once the bottom wore down.

I am on my fourth pair of Timberland shoes. It's all I've been wearing for casual for the last ten years. I have very thin legs, especially ankles and need a shoe that won't rub my skinny little ankle bone. My Timberlands fit the bill. They are comfortable and yes, ladies, they are stylish too. They look good with shorts and pants...not so much with capris though.

You are probably right, but the funny thing is, the inside is where they get slippery. They had removable liners that I've since pitched, but wet feet inside smooth wet plastic shoes made for some tricky walking. Of course I'm still wearing them everywhere around here, much to the embarrassment of my children.
