What are your favorite restaurants in the North End of Boston?

if you ever want to know about the north side of Akron, Im your man

La Famiglia Giorgio on Salem St. In 2004, it was named by USA Today as one of the top 10 places to carb-up before a marathon. The food is reasonably priced, delicious, and you get LOTS of it. :)

I cannot remember the name and it is driving me crazy. It is a woman's name like Angelena,Nicoles it is on Hanover Street left hand side not too far from the conner. It is excellent and if anyone knows which restaurant I am talking about PLEASE tell me it is driving me crazy. It is the one where people get engaged at a specific table.

Try phantomgourmet.com they will give you a run down of most restaurants in the North End. By the way I do not like Joe Teccie's(sp?)

My family enjoys La Famiglia also. DS's love drinking coca-cola out of the glass bottles :earboy2:

Regina Pizzaria is great for real authentic Italian pizza.

PD - I've been to Cleveland. So put it this way: if the phone don't ring, guess who it is?? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

(Just kidding, Cleveland is very nice). :goodvibes

Thanks, guys. I will have to try www.phantomgourmet.com and LaFamiglia Giorgio. We do love Pizzeria Regina. Curious to know why don't you like Joe Tecces, Bella?

Any thoughts on bakeries? We were in one the other night and I was surprised - the cookies were stale. :(

We had a very bad dinner experience at Joe Tecce's - although DH used to eat lunch there and liked it then. Try Mike's Pastries for cannoli and "lobster claws." There is another famous bakery I can't remember the name of. Forget cookies - get cannoli and the like.

Our favorite post dinner cafe is Caffe Vittorio. We would always head there after dinner for cappuccino and pastry. YUM!

Vittorio is also right on Hanover St.

Stregga's, they will fill you up on pasta and the service is very friendly. They make sure everyone is happy!

La Famiglia and La Conte both on Salem Street....excellent food and service.

Joe Tecce's--overpriced IMHO

Does it have a neon martini glass pouring out on the sign in front? Sounds like the same place we ate last fall and it was wonderful. I want to say Angela's but I'm not sure. I called my bil but he's not home. He's the restaurant person when it comes to Boston. I'll post if he calls me back with the name.

I think that's Cantina Italiana, one of Mr. Fiore's restaurants.

Here's another vote for La Famiglia Giorgio - we love it there!

Tried to get the kids to try a cannoli but they wanted cookies!

We actually visited two bakeries. One had delicious lemon drop italian cookies which were excellent (and fresh!) so I picked up a bag for my mother who loves anything lemon. I have the recipe for those so I'm going to make some next time we have to go somewhere, I'd forgotten how good they were.

Don't go to Regina Pizzaria, honestly comming from New York the pizza is nothing special, if not below average.

I'm tossing in another vote for La Famiglia Giorgio :)

And of course, Mike's Pasteries afterwards, but that goes without saying!
