Our family will be on the Dream 5 night double dip at the end of the month - we are so excited! This will be our 4th cruise, but our first as just our family (mom, dad, and 3 boys - ages 10, 6 and just shy of 3). Our previous cruises have been with extended family (other adults with no kids), so we've done late seating and the kids have gone to the club after very quickly eating their dinner:) Before dinner has been hanging out in one of the lounges (our kids didn't mind too much as they felt grown up drinking their virgin drinks or they played midship detective - the older kids that is).

But, this trip, we are super excited for family time and just being together!!! What are you favorite things to do in the evenings? I've found the double dip navigators from last year - looks like karaoke, disney trivia, the shows (obviously), etc!

Tell me how your family spends your evenings on the ship! (FYI - we are still doing late seating, it works for us).

Our DD loves the show, so we always go to that after our main seating at dinner. She also loves the Pirate show and fireworks, so that is one of our activities as well. Since we try to get her in bed before 9, we dont have a need to do much more than that.

I am sure others will chime in with much more creative ideas.

One nice thing with late seating is that the pools tend to clear out as early diners start to get ready for dinner. We try to pick one afternoon/early evening to enjoy the pools without the normal kid soup. It’s a great time to ride the Aquaduck too. Then we still have time to get changed for dinner.

If they are still doubling up on the WDW shows we found more kid friendly nightclub shows where the kids got to participate (learn magic tricks, play buckets and boards) and surprisingly our 10 year old son LOVED the family dance parties that they had right before dinner. There were only a couple of other families but my somewhat shy son turned it up!

"Kid soup"...haha....Love it!

Thanks for the ideas! Where is the family dance party? We all love to dance!

I cruise with my mother, sister, BIL, and niece and nephew, but, in the evenings after dinner, it's usually just my mother and I. We like to attend the productions in the theatre and then split up for the rest of the evening :) I usually hit the pub for a late-night drink, walk around the ship, or try to get a photo with a character before retiring to bed. Good life!

On our last Fantasy cruise they were in D Lounge some nights and The Tube other nights- typically right around 7-8. We’d dance and then go to dinner and get 2 desserts thanks to all that cardio.

We've always cruised with just our family (4 cruises, two boys, now 9 & 11) and done late seating and the boys still choose to head out to the clubs after dinner. We make dinner together mandatory (and usually swim/slide during early dinner) but let them go off after dinner and enjoy the adult activities.

We've only done the early seating with our daughter. Afterwards, sometimes we'd head up to the pool deck, grab a hot chocolate and towels, then snuggle on the lounge chairs and watch whatever movie is playing.
