What are your favorite DLP hotels?

Hello! I'm a WDW veteran in the very early stages of planning our first DLP trip for next summer (likely late June/early July). Starting with the hotel and wondering - if cost were no object (and it will be somewhat of an object for us, but this is likely a once-in-a-lifetime trip so we will go as all-out as we can), what are your top 2 or 3 favorite DLP hotels and why? Convenience is a huge factor for us, so I'm particularly interested to hear which parks are most convenient to the parks and/or offer perks or amenities that make visiting the parks more convenient. Thanks so much!

Without a doubt, if money if no object then it's the Disneyland Hotel. It's so convenient - literally on the doorstep, smells divine, looks lovely, rooms are spacious and breakfast is fantastic - lots of food offers and a lovely view over Main Street and the Castle at the end (if you're lucky, not all seats are window but many are). We love it. Having said all that, I haven't stayed anywhere else other than Sequoia Lodge once (Golden Forest rooms) and I really enjoyed that too - and it was MUCH cheaper. But still lovely to be overlooking Lake Disney - it is a little walk into the parks each day but no more than 10 mins or so, bit more if bag searches are taking a while. I would definitely consider it again and I'm also liking the look of the Newport Bay Club which I've never been keen on - it's had a refurb and looks lovely - would be nice for a summer holiday I think as it also has an outdoor pool if it's really warm. The new Compass Club level in this hotel looks lovely.

Overall though, I think being able to get back into your room at DLH at the end of the day within 5 mins of exiting the park is worth paying for!

ETA - if you can afford Castle Club rooms in the DLH you will receive a VIP FP which allows you unlimited access all day, every day of your stay on FP rides. At busy times this can be a lifesaver but DLRP is small enough that you can get by without it if need be. Suites in many of the lake hotels - Hotel New York, Sequoia and Newport, all have VIP FPs too but again, come at a price. Also 'club level' rooms at the lake hotels give you a one off, one use per day FP for any ride but it can't be used between 1-4pm. Standard rooms at the DLH have this perk too.

I cant afford to stay at the Disneyland Hotel so I have stayed at Newport Bay twice.
It is lovely and is just nearing completion of a refurb.

P.S. you will be pleased to know the Disneyland Park doesnt have that 'intensity' with the crowds or atmosphere like the MK does.

The hotels at DLP are less resort like than WDW and all offer the same privileges.
All Disney hotels are walkable to the parks apart from Davy Crocket Ranch which you need a car for as there is no shuttle bus. The others all have a bus as well (apart from DL hotel which is literally over the entrance

The 2 parks are next to each other - less than 5 mins walk away (similar to DL California if you have ever been there)

My favourite hotels are
DLH - for location
NY - again for location - about 5-10 mins walk to the parks through the Village
Sequoia Lodge - about 10-15 mins walk to the parks round the lake and through the village
Although I have stayed at them all and would stay at any of them again
