We are not very familiar with dining options at AK. We probably will not have time to do character buffet/Donald's - Tusker House(?) as I had hoped.
Just wondering what everyone's favorites are at AK.
Thanks!!

We like Pizzafari. Although, if it is busy, we sometimes make a meal / snack from the fruit cart and bakery window beside the safari and eat at the Dawa Bar. It can be a busy park for food so try to eat an early lunch if possible.

We like Flame Tree Barbeque, but we LOVE the Yak & Yeti CS. With picky eaters, Flame Tree is probably a better bet.

We keep trying to change but we keep ending up back at Flametree. We find the food very good and large portions for us. The seating near the water is really nice too, except for the ducks:laughing:We are hoping to try Yak & Yeti CS next time.

Flame Tree Barbeque...love the Ribs combo (ribs, baked beans, corn muffin, drink & dessert.) or the 1/2 chicken combo - it's smoked instead of slathered with BBQ sauce (has the same sides) We love to get the minute maid frozen lemonade as our dessert -- it's frozen pretty solid & has a lid so you can take it with you for a leisurely eat & stroll when you're done eating.

And we love to go all the way back around the Flame Tree building -- two fab places to eat back there. Right behind the building is a lovely exotic looking reflecting pool -- looks like an overgrown Asian temple pool or something. Nice patio there (watch out for birds, though! If you feed them a crumb they will not go away!) Or if you keep walking around the back and on down the steps there's another covered picnic pavillion down on the lake -- awesome view of "Everest" -- shady & cool even on a 90 degree day. And oohh so restful (well, you can hear the occasional scream from Everest, but it's pretty far away:rotfl:)

Another vote for Flame Tree...we have made trips to AK just for lunch!

We've eaten at Flametree, Yak & Yeti and Flametree. Loved all 3. We plan on Pizzafari this year. Really though, it depends on our location when it is lunch time.

:thumbsup2Another one for Pizzafari-specifically the hot deli sandwich. It's the only CS place I've eaten at twice in the same trip-and ordered the same thing both times. And if it get super hot out, there's nothing like escaping into Pizzafari for a little while with a frozen Minute Maid lemonade. Just be careful of brain freeze!

My personal favorite is Flame Tree BBQ. We eat there everytime we go and love it. All of the other restaurants are good, but Flame Tree is my favorite by far.
