What are your Disney World fears?

A WDW vacation costs a lot of money and time. I'm interested in what you worry about before you leave on vacation. What things need to happen for your vacation to be a success? :confused3

I fear it is going to be hot, sweaty and cranky. My trip is a success if the fun times outweigh the hassles.

I always worry about my youngest getting sick. He's not a healthy kid and when he gets sick, he gets really sick! I also worry about crowds, which I obviously have no control over, but it still happens! I hate waiting in lines with two anxious kiddos.

This seems vain, but I fear which room we will actually be in! When I book, I always pay for water views and request balcony. I love having that balcony, but know it's "first come, first serve"... so I hold my breath until I've seen the room and view!

I watch the "refurb" list like a hawk! Nothing worse than visiting WDW/DLR and finding out your favorite rides are closed.:(

I fear my ADR's will be lost in the system, so I carry my confirmation #'s with me and ready to fight for that ADR!

But my biggest fear is flight cancellation... we live in Wyoming and due to the time of year we vacation with Disney (mainly Spring Break and October), we deal with lots of snow and cancelled/delayed flights. Being "stuck" in Orlando is not a problem... it's being stuck in Denver that keeps me up at night!

I always worry about things that are not in my control (haha type A anyone?) like the weather or my kids getting sick.

Last time we went with my extended family, 3 out of 4 of my brother's kids had a stomach bug. I can only imagine what that is like to take care of in a hotel room......

I can't think of anything to worry about other than having a safe trip there & back.
We've been in all kinds of weather. Hot--cold--rainy--very rainy. A sick child one time. Bad room location once. Family blow up a couple times, lol.
All in all tho our trips have been wonderful and look forward to many more.

My son is on an immune suppressive medication, so I worry about germs. He's generally a healthy kid, but crowds and kids = germs!

I also worry everyone is going to have a horrible time. We are not only paying the way for our family of 4, but my MIL as well. I worry we won't get along for the entire trip ( 9 days total including beach time).

About 60 days before we leave, I get this irrational fear my daughter will break her leg and we'll spend all of Disney in a wheelchair or on crutches.

Having been with a sick child and having been sick myself, this is a huge challenge. Thanks!

Splash Mountain being closed in winter has me changing my next vacation! Thanks for contributing.

Don't worry about that. My sister broke her leg before our last trip and we were able to enjoy everything, albeit at a very reduced pace:)

Thanks.

My son did this 2 days after we got home from our trip! He fell at school, ended up needing surgery and temporary pins put in. He was in a wheel chair for 8 weeks at 6 years old. Thank goodness it was after the trip and not before or during!

Since we drive yearly to WDW from Ohio, I probably worry a little about traffic and distracted drivers, and making it safely there and back. Also, I worry about my home being as we left it, but we pray before we leave and pray a thankful prayer when we return.

True story: we have friends who went on vacation and returned to find the entire side of their home burned but none of the neighbors seemed to know how it happened. Finally, one of the neighbors came forward and told them that a neighbor had accidentally caught their home on fire with their BBQ grill. Nice bunch. Our friends had insurance fix the home, put it up for sale and moved. Wouldn't you?

I have an elderly grandmother who will be 100 years old on the 25th. Her health has been unstable the past few years and is particularly unpredictable right now. I worry that she will pass while we are away and that we will lose tons of money trying to make arrangements to get back home.

We're headed to WDW in September. I am concerned (not really afraid) of a massive hurricane and we get stuck down there.

I worried a lot about the weather and getting sick (this winter we seem to have been sick almost every week OTHER than the week we were in Disney, thank goodness!). I worried about our sitter situation for our younger kids and pets.
I worried that I didn't plan 'right' or 'enough'. For the most part we were fine but I wish I had a better plan for HS, I just haphazardly tried to figure out where to go when and we didn't get to see much there.

Rain that lasts a day - hard rain. We had one such day in 2012 and the following week there were several (hurricane).
