What are your Disney pet peeves?

My biggest pet peeve far and above beyond the typical rude behavior are the people WHO ARE NOT READY TO GO when their time comes in the queue, and then not moving to the side while correcting the issue. I'm talking about:

1) Having your bags ready to be searched at security. (DLR only. But DLR also needs to update this to WDW standards)
2) Having your tickets ready to scan (along with anything else you might need, ID, birth certificate, whatever)
3) Having your Lightning Lanes ready to scan (ALL OF THEM)
4) Having your payment ready at registers or whatever you need to scan for your discount
5) Knowing your correct party size when attraction attendant asks you

Of course if there is no queue, then by all means: take your time and leisurely chat away with the CM.
But when there's a line 10+ deep. KEEP. IT. MOVING.

Closing MK earlier as often as WDW does really screws us over ALOT!

To add to this speaking about my 2017 trip I mentioned in a Saturday to Saturday schedule MK had MNSSHP party nights back then 3 nights but back then it closed at 7pm, there were nights that were not party nights that closed between 9-11pm regular park hours. It still was an effort to try and maximize park time with the earlier closing times.

Nowadays MNSSHP starts earlier than it did back then, closes the park at 6pm, and regular park hours are not that late anymore.

To be fair with a mention towards HHN over at Universal they do close down the Studios at like 5pm I believe but they just don't have nearly the same number of nights that are affected throughout the year at WDW does. I also forgot about Jollywood Nights over at DHS. Fall/Halloween season is rough already but if you're going in that Christmas time like another poster had talked about it can get really dicey there.

Yes, my personal belief is that DVD should have insisted on a minimum purchase to create and activate a membership. I also personally believe that the minimum should equal 1 bedroom villa in one's home resort for one week.

I would wholeheartedly disagree with this. Why in the world would I want or need to buy that many points at one resort when I don't vacation like that?! It's just myself and my husband staying in studios for about 7-8 days. Thank goodness Disney doesn't agree with you and is willing to sell contracts that fit the person's need.

I am so sad I didnt get the pixar pal around one, especially since I worked on that attraction in 2004 back when it was the Sun Wheel (I feel old) . I was very much looking forward to it and it sold out in like a week in February with no plans to return and even the cms told me that scalpers were buying them up

I was lucky - I had a friend going and she grabbed one for me. Then we had to find a time to meet up so I could get it from her!

My biggest pet peeve is the "penalties" for the ap passes at Disneyland. Plans change and sometimes you dont feel like going. Ive heard of people having to go when theyre sick to not get dinged and its just a pita. Youre now paying for this pass that you cant use for a month and there is no mercy like none once you hit three. Not even a hotel reservation will get you out of it and yes im currently in a penalty state

i can go on and on about the reservations but it is so cumbersome having to book them for wdw too only to have them turn into good to go days. Sometimes I do rethink getting an annual pass just because with so cal deals you dont have to worry about that ridiculousness or reservations. I also think it creates this false scarcity and demand and having to refresh over and over for a last min resy I seriously hate this about Disney. And yes I realize its three strikes your out but I genuinely forgot I even had a reservation when the penalty hit my mind was occupied with other things going on in my life.

I hate those strikes. On saturday, my plans ended up not working out as originally planned for a Disneyland day. I have one ding that is very close to dropping off, but did not want another. I needed to get the new Pooh bucket (friend from above grabbed those for me the day before so I can send them to a different friend). So she and I met outside Disneyland and I got the bucket from her and also scanned in to prevent my no-show. Walked in and bought a bottle of water and walked out. At least I get the free parking on my pass to make this less annoying.

I would say, "people who cannot seem to get through security without being sent to secondary screening" - but my family gets nabbed 9 times out of 10. DWs glasses case gets caught a lot, I get caught with umbrellas. Somehow DD even brought in a toy that had a bunch of magnets. OK, yeah, security should take a second look at that, but why did she even have it?

The glasses case will get you every time. I bought a soft shell case I use only for WDW now.

I don't like having to make my LL reservations during my window on the app only. If I'm getting up super early I'd prefer using a larger screen, these older eyes in their early 50s don't focus as easy.

I don't understand why we can't login to the computer as an option for these things.


Other than that, not really too many pet peeves with Disney itself. I mean there are things that can get a little annoying but not really a by definition pet peeve like say people who make mouth noises while eating

I don't like having to make my meal reservations during my window on the app only. If I'm getting up super early I'd prefer using a larger screen, these older eyes in their early 50s don't focus as easy.

Yea, it's one I have never understood. When we did fast passes we could do on a computer. But I think it was when LL first came out that we couldn't , or whatever it was called between the two.

I have zero issues adjusting or searching on the app while at Disney for the LLs but it's the initial scheduling.

On the contrary side, it would be nice to have a DVC app.

Well I learned something new from this thread that will save me some heartburn in the future! We are going to be booking our first LLs ever in a few weeks and I totally would have tried to do it on my laptop at 7am. Thank you!!

Related to the differences between booking experiences (midnight?), Lightning Lanes (7am, app only?), Dining (6am, app or website), I find it extra aggravating that the windows aren't consistently applied too.

Just had to learn the hard way that with a contiguous split stay, you have to wait for your second check-in date to book the rest of your dining reservations, but apparently the LL system will allow you to book LLs for the entirety of your split stay. WHY ARE THEY DIFFERENT?

This is very petty, but since you asked...I do not like it when CM's call me "friend". I do not know them, they do not know me, and I am not their friend. Maybe we could be friends, but at the moment, we are not. I'd rather be greeted by just plain old "Hello", not "Hello Friend". And some of the things others mentioned bug me, too. Again, it's something small and not going to affect my day, but I would prefer not to be called friend (at least the non stop "Princess" phase seems to have ended).
