I have heard of people ordering a double burger and asking for an extra bun. Or cooking a roast in a crock pot in your Disney room. Any other ideas?

I think the double burger with the extra bun ended years ago.

My family is fine sharing meals or some of us lighter eaters order off the kid's menu when it is allowed (non buffets/fixed price meals). We also bring a lot of food into the parks. We pack an entire suitcase full of snacks and breakfast items. That suitcase is mostly empty on the way home so we have room for any souvenirs. Sometimes we have a kitchen and we cook a few meals in the room.

Dear OP,

Please consider yourself forewarned that suggesting the idea that people save money by cooking in standard hotel rooms (both at Disney and anywhere else) with appliances that break the fire code will get you some really ugly comments in return. This topic has been talked about/bashed/discussed/argued TO DEATH here on the Budget Board. I totally understand in looking at your post count that you are fairly new here, so you probably haven't experienced this yet.

If you are looking for ideas to save money on food at Disney, may I suggest that you do a search here on the Dis..... there is usually a new thread about every other week on the topic.

With a sincerely caring concern,

P

ETA: Okay.... joke's on me I guess. I see you have decided to make a appearance and try to stir things up with your comments about cheapo Orlando hotels, "sneaking" onto Disney property to avoid paying parking, and this particular gem. Nice move....:sad2:

I am fine sharing a meal, bringing snacks to the parks, saving my Starbucks gift cards for drinks in the parks, etc. I think trying to cook something in my room is where I draw the line. I totally understand not being able to afford eating out at Disney every single day. Growing up we packed PB&J's and turkey sandwiches and ate those in the parks and we often ate offsite for dinner. There's nothing wrong with that! But asking for a double burger and an extra bun is not my idea of a fun time on vacation.

@pjlla nelson84 knows this. He tends to post about subjects that are known to bring heated responses (gay days, cooking in the room, avoiding parking fees, etc). He's been gone for a while but I remember his posting style.

How ya been, nelson?

As you have realized, the OP is not new - he has been on the boards for ten years. I'm sure a search of his threads (even just today) will reveal all sorts of hot topics.

Your trolling.

Funny how you criticize someone who calls you a troll, yet you've called two people (both long standing posters) trolls within 9 posts.

For those who actually do care about this, I thought that WDW had started charging for the extra bun, such that it wasn't a great/any savings over ordering two single burgers. Is that not the case? Not something I've tried, so don't really know (just thought that I had read that here).

Unless I'm in a unit with a kitchen, I would not be using a slow cooker (or any equipment). Those units are not vented for cooking and the smell would easily annoys neighbours (I know that I'd complain if I could smell cooking from rooms near me).

Bringing sandwiches, snacks, etc. into the parks does work.

Your trolling.

Hahaha - you might want to look up the definition of that word.

My goal in quoting your post was simply to help new posters not be taken in by your bad info. What was your goal in posting? To see how many threads you can get locked in a day or actually to provide useful information?

Your trying to close this topic.

If i recall correctly you called the burgers tasteless in your thread that got shut down yesterday, so why would you want extra.

Simply put pack a lunch to save to pay for the parking...
