What are your best recommendations for table service restaurants for lunch and dinner for our group? Here is a little bit about us:

Me (34), DH (35), DD (6), DD (4), DD (2), my mom and my dad. We will be traveling to WDW for seven days in March 2010. My parents have not been to Disney World since 1979. I am working to put together an itinerary that will make all parties happy. I am looking to include 6 or 7 TS restaurants. We will be visiting all four parks. My DH, my parents, and myself enjoy all types of food; however, my father is not fond of buffets. I would like to take them to restaurants that will provide good food for a decent value. I would also like for them to experience the wonderful theming of Disney restaurants.

So....considering all of that, what are your best recommendations?

Ak:
Yak & Yeti
We like Tusker House breakfast but it is a Buffet!

DHS:
50's Prime Time Cafe

MK:
CRT
Tony's Town Square
The Plaza
We also like the Crystal Palace but it is a buffet!

Epcot:
All of them are good in MY Opinion!
But our favorite is Le Cellier.

Resorts:
Chef Mickeys (I know it is a buffet but the kids will LOVE it!)
Grand Floridian Cafe
Kona Cafe at the Poly
Captain's Grille at the YC
Turf Club at SSR

We just got back and this was my parents first trip to Disney. Some of our favorite places and the places we really liked/loved were the GF Cafe, the food and service here was just amazing. Le Cellier everything was great and Kona Cafe, it is a little loud here but the food and service are worth the noise. We had dinner at all 3 places and the food and service where just amazing. There where kids at all of these places and so I would not worry about taking children to any of these places.

Even though it's a buffet, I agree Chef Mickey(breakfast) or Crystal Palace (b,l,or d) is a great place for the kids and the food is decent.

I like all of the restaurants, but to choose the best food and good themes:

I think Mama Melrose is the best 1 ts credit at Studios, but 50's prime time does have a fun theme - not crazy about the food; Tony's town square in MK or Liberty Tree if you all like traditional thanksgiving type food (no more characters there); the Land (with chip and dale) has good food and some of it is actually grown there so it's very fresh!; AK I like tusker house buffet, it lets you choose and taste foods that normally (I) you wouldn't order since they sound too exotic but still have basic foods for the kids too.

if travelling with two young children we always found buffets to be better - how about family style restaurants as a compromise?

Ohana's and Akershus are two good ones to try. The complete meal at Ohana's is family style while only the appetisers at Akershus are buffet the main course and dessert are delivered to the table.

Liberty tree tavern dinner is nice family style food (shame they no longer have the characters!)

The children will enjoy eating at CRT - lunch and dinner food are better than breakfast.

How about a show such as Hoop De doo? Another great family event.

Have a fabulous time - shame that you will miss out on Boma - I really think it might persuade your Dad that there are some really good buffets out there.

Don't you want to do princess meals for your daughters? I would recommend Akershus, CRT or 1900 Park Fare. Akershus is combo family style/buffet. CRT is family style & 1900 Park fare is a buffet.

We have actually been to Disney three times. On our most recent trip we did several TS meals including many character breakfasts (Tusker House, CRT, 1900 Park Fare, Crystal Palace, Hollywood and Vine, Chef Mickey's). My mom and I will probably take our girls to CRT sometime during the trip. We will also probably force my dad to go against his "no buffet" rule to experience either Tusker House or Crystal Palace (or maybe both! We really enjoyed those two restaurants/experiences.)

We do have some experience with Disney restaurants. We have done San Angel Inn, Le Celliar, the restaurant in Morrocco, Tutto, Liberty Tree Tavern, Sci Fi Dine-in, and Rainforest Cafe in addition to the above mentioned character breakfasts. I just put the question out there to see what I might be missing or what others might recommend given the fact that my parents have not been in so long and that we have such a wide range of ages in our party.

Thank you all for the input. Please keep the comments coming!
