Am I the only one with a crazy before bed ritual???? Every night I check the locks to make sure they are bolted (3 on each of the 3 doors), check the windows in DS's rooms to make sure they are locked (they have rooms on the second floor, so who knows why I do that???), and glance up at all the smoke detectors to make sure the green light is on.
Then I settle in to watch TV in bed. Right before I turn off the TV to go to sleep I check DS's windows again (like they would have gotten up in their sleep and unlocked them???) and check the smoke detectors again.

Meanwhile DH sleeps soundly and wouldn't notice if the front door was open with a sign on it reading "Come in and steal our stuf".
I think I'm a sicko.

You're an absolute freak show. Just kidding! You're exactly like me, especially when DH is working out of town. It just shows that we're very protective people. :thumbsup2

Just checking to make sure that our Brinks alarm system is on, and to make sure that the cat is not shut up in one of the rooms of the house.

I check on the cats and I take 2 drinks and put them on the night stand. One glass of water or tea for me and one mug of water for the cats. They aren't spoiled or anything!

check all windows and doors to make sure there locked, let dog out to pee, give dog and cat there night night treats for bed, get me a pop and watch a justice files or something like that in bed until i get sleepy

Check on all the kids, make sure garage doors are shut, double check door locks, make sure dryer is turned off, touch all the stove burners to make sure they're not hot, then pull back covers to make sure there are no spiders. In that order, every night.

I make sure my candles have been blown out. I check the locks then head to bed. Nothing that big.

guess I'm pretty boring....I wash my face, brush my teeth and hop in:confused3

No, not sicko, you just have a touch of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Or Anxiety Disorder, or a bit of both. I know because I have both. Millions of people live normal lives with it, and it is no wonder so many of us have it with the crap they feed us on TV and in the news.

You were ok up until you said you get out of bed to check the window locks again. The first check is a little anxiety, the second check is just obsessive.

Dude, you're so sweet:love: :lmao: :lmao:

I watch TV and do needlepoint until I feel sleepy. Then I get up from my comfy TV watching chair, go to the back of the house and let the dog out, turn on the outside lights, check all three doors in the back sunroom, let the dog back in, then go to my room, set my alarm clock and go to bed. I always mean to brush my teeth and take my makeup off, but sometimes I forget.

If I feel creepy for any reason I set the security alarm and check my security camera - I have four on the outside onf my house and I can see them from my TV. I don't know what I'd do if I ever saw someone - probably have a heart attack and die before they could break in!!!

Getting ready for bed is so exciting for me...

I clean the litter box and put down some dry food for the cats. Then I go to the bathroom. Then, I try to slip into bed without waking my wife (she always goes to bed before me).

That sounds pretty exciting for us, too, George. Your wife is a lucky woman!!!! Especially that part about cleaning the litter box....

I peek in to make sure the kids are indeed in their beds and not the floor, take my contacts out, pee, and make sure the alarm is set for my partner.

1) come home from work and fix supper
2) guilt hubby into doing the dishes
3) gather up adult beverage #1
4) take my every evening bubble bath with music/radio on
sipping aforementioned #1 adult beverage
5) decide that I am pruny and clean enough and get out of tub
6) put nammies on
7) gather adult beverage #2
8) get laptop fired up and going
9) DIS w/ aforementioned adult beverage #2
10) thank hubby for doing dishes
11) DIS some more until I decide I am parched
12) gather adult beverage #3
13) DIS some more
14) wake up when hubby hollers down the steps to go to bed since I have fallen asleep in the recliner with laptop in my lap and an empty adult glass/mug/beer can
15) go to bed

I check the bathroom:
1. Make sure the toilet seat is down.
2. Check behind the shower curtains, and then fully close them.
3. Close the door.

Then in my room:
1. Make sure my closets are closed.
2. Make sure the drawers aren't open.

I agree that it sounds a bit like OCD.

I put the dog out one last time, turn off the porch light, lock front door, use facilities, brush teeth, go to bed.

I make sure all the lights are off downstairs and all the doors locked. I go upstairs, check on the twins first and make sure they are not about to roll off the bed, lol. Then I check on 6yo, I turn off her radio (she has to have it on to go to sleep). Then I go into my bathroom and do all my usual things like brush teeth, contacts, wash face, etc. Then set my alarm and get right into bed! Sounds complicated but it's pretty simply actually.
