What are your 10 worst restaurants at WDW?

For the most part I have a hard time being negative about any Disney experience. But since we go to WDW several times each year, we are bound to like some restaurants better than others.

Nine Dragons - to me it is no better than any neighborhood Chinese restaurant. Mediocre food and fast service - the better to turn the table quickly.

Sci Fi - I love watching the movie trailers, but the food is not great and some of our party had to share a 'car' with people from another group.

50's Prime Time - the 'home cooking' is ok but I can live without the waitress routine. I know it is part of the act, but it can get pretty annoying.

Akershus - the only attraction here is the Princeses. The table service entrees are so-so and the buffet appetizers are uninspired. It's a high price to pay to take a picture with Belle.

Would I go back to these restaurants? Sure. They are all part of the Disney experience. I can always balance them with a trip to Boma or Jiko to lift my culinary spirits.

I don't have 10 but I do have a few!

Electric Umbrella at Epcot - the burgers were so dry and the fries were mushy and cold. Just plain ew if you ask me. It's a shame though as it used to be good back in the day.

Alfredo's - glad this place got the boot. I ate there in December 2005 and it was just plain BAD Italian. Gross.

Marrakesh - I think the flavors here just didn't appeal to me. I like trying new things... but this just wasn't up my alley.

On the other hand, I think I must be the only person here who likes Planet Hollywood, LOL. I must have gotten lucky the few times I've been there. Also I really liked Flame Tree BBQ at Animal Kingdom. My favorite is the counter service at Mexico in Epcot ( the name escapes me. )

Tony's-bad everything
Electric Umbrella-bad food
Mama Melrose-bad everything
San Angel-bad service
Captain Jacks-barely O.K. food/service
Commisary in HS-bad food
Whatever the TS is at CBR-bad food

If you really want to try a place, don't listen to others reviews tho. Maybe the menu has changed or you will get a nice CM. I will usually give a place a couple of chances and the ones of the above list have had those chances and failed.

For us:

1900 Park Fair--Dinner only
Columbia Harbor House
Village Haus-MK
Noodle/Asian CS-MK
CRT-breakfast only
Marrekesh
Nine Dragons
Biergarten
Planet Hollywood
GF counter service

I would have to say ESPN club. Not the food. It was good bar food. Exactly what I expected. However, our service was horrible. We were getting our appetizer (after 30+ minutes) and another server was walking up with our dinners. The waitress actually asked " So, Do you want it now or would you like me to keep it warm in the back?" I've worked in resaurants. I was fully aware that this is what would be happening to our dinners. But I would never actually SAY that!

Wow - twelve pages. I believe that's longer than the similar thread about your 10 favorite restaurants that is also here on the board.

It looks like what we need to do now is to correlate the two of them and add up all the mentions for and against in a summary form. Any volunteers?

Nine Dragons was sooo disappointing
Rainforest Cafe @ AK (long wait for annoying atmosphere and mediocre chain food)
Electric Umbrella (that place gets kinda gross in the middle of the day...not particularly well-kept and only ok theme park food)
Pizza Planet--NEVER again. microwaved doughy pizza, uninterested cast members, long wait for said microwaved pizzas, loud, and dirty

A lot of folks are hating on Sci Fi because of the service and food; for the record, I've always had great and fun service and the burger isn't half bad. Awesome theme.
Raglean Road?? how did that make the list? maybe cause of my Irish heritage, but I love that place. Chowder and bread pudding--all the way. And the lamb was delicious too

Some things may have changed in almost six years.

Planet Hollywood
Sci Fi
H&V dinner
Chef Mickey dinner
Pecos Bill
'Ohana breakfast
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Spirit of Aloha show
Pizza Planet
The Boardwalk pizza to go place

This is in no particular order.

Signature:
--The Renovated California Grill, which was a huge disappointment, as we used to love it.

Table Service:
--Whispering Canyon Café: Loud, Loud, LOUD

--Rainforest Café

--Sci-Fi

--Coral Reef: This was literally the worst meal I have ever had on Disney property.

--Crystal Palace: Love Pooh and Friends, and the restaurant is beautiful, but we've tried it twice and absolutely hated the food both times.

Counter Service:

--ABC Commissary

--Fairfax Fare

Since that's only eight, I will add that I don't personally love Boma or Tutto Italia, either, but I think that's just a personal thing, because others in my party really liked them.

Please keep in mind, that every restaurant can have an off day/night, and this is my own opinion. So here goes.

Sci-Fi
Tony's Town Square
Liberty Tree Tavern
Mama Melrose
Kona
1900 Park Fare
Pecos Bills
Backlot Express
Lotus Blossom Café
Whispering Canyon

Some we have tried again, and they still were not good.

I'm someone who can happily dine at counter service places like Casey's Corner in MK (best hot dog ever!), "chain" like restaurants such as Rainforest Cafe, and elegant signature restaurants like Jiko or the 5 star Victoria and Albert's.

It takes ALOT for me to truly think food is so terrible I won't eat it. I mean, even then, I find a way because I love food. However, I'd say the worst food for me was:

1. Tony's Town Square - A big part of this is because I'm Italian though. That is just not how red sauce should taste. So, for me, it was really gross and I gave them 2 chances spread out over 4 years and they still don't know how to do a proper chicken cutlet parm, which you can get like at any pizza place for goodness sake. Tasted like a TV Dinner.

2. The Backlot Express - I mean, I didn't really mind it. I was very hungry so I just gobbled down the terrible burgers they made for me. I mean, I lived, so it couldn't really have been inedible, could it? I do enjoy the ambiance of it with it's Indiana Jones like setting, though.

3. The Spirit of Aloha Show - Yucky.

The Royal Table went twice didn't like it either time
Mamma Melrose was not my favorite either..

I love this thread! Nice to see it back up. It's just so interesting to see all the different opinions.

Side note: I am surprised at how often 'Ohana has been listed. It's one of the most mentioned!

Here's my top 5:

1. Chefs de France - Worst meal I've ever had at Disney World. And the service wasn't too hot, either. But I did love seeing Remy, which almost made it worth it!

2. Spoodles - No longer open... good riddance. Rivals Chefs for my worst Disney meal ever.

3. Hollywood and Vine - No better than the local Old Country Buffet. And the place is fairly ugly, too.

4. 50's Prime Time Café - Never got the attraction of this place.

5. Coral Reef - Beautiful, yes. But the menu is pretty terrible for a seafood place. And the quality of the food is no better than Red Lobster.

Not to get preachy at all, but we usually subscribe to the "so many people would love to be able to go to WDW, and eat ANYTHING"--- so, that being said.... dont have many that we have not enjoyed--- we've had bad experiences, but the only restaurant we would never go back to is "Nine Dragons"---

We ate a late lunch, and had a dinner ressie there---- we didnt want to cancel it, but we were not that hungry, so we ordered a few appetizers--- maybe 4 or 5 ---

When we asked for tea, they told us that we couldnt have any, because we didnt order enough food-

All in one but I think if all were listed it would be close to 10 ... All the counter service is DHS (( sad )) disney can do so much better than these non variety of foods Blah!
